yeah supras are very expensive nowadays i remember back in 98 when the las ones came to the dealers i was 13 back them and i was in love with it with all options a tt came up to about 46 with dealer fees. the bad thing about buyng a supra is the insurance and that they get stolen a lot! u'll have to spend $$$ on alarms and security stuff. i believe next to the skyline supras are the best thing japan has ever made!

yes but you have to take in the fact that the supra's engine which is as you stated as "amazing". the only thing is that that inline 6 is well a time bomb. The life span of that engine is very very low.

^ I beg to differ on that comment. My dad drives a 87 BMW 735 with an inline 6. He has over 319K miles on it. Runs like the day he bought it brand new.

Oh, hi im new here!

I Drakkar, I hope you were referring to the Supra's I6 and not all inline 6s. Even in the case of the Supra, that engine has proven to be pretty durable, people just tend to overboost them w.out proper reinforcement.

UTICivic, yeah, BMW has been using I6s for ever and ever now, the modern day 3 series (hell, even the older ones..) continues to use them, they're excellent engines, take up a bit a more space than a V6, but they're very refined and if I'm not mistaken have better torque output.

The Supra TT's engine is very reliable. It can be built to 700whp on the stock internals which is a very nice benefit. I would be happy with 700whp. Wouldn't you? When it starts getting higher miles you will want to change the water pump. Its know to go bad at 80-90k miles. That extremely modded engine would overheat in a matter of seconds and cause engine failure right away. The 2JZ-GTE is a bad*** engine.

Can't you buy an IS300 and mod it yourself. Doesn't it have the same engine except non-turbo. 55k wow! There are so many cars you can buy for that price.

$55K sounds like a good price for a fully built drag race car that is stock looking on the outside. I mean, if you were to purchase it, I doubt you'll use it as an everyday car.

You can buy a lot of stock new cars for that price, but this car is a one of a kind.

i wouldn't be suprised if when someone finally buys it

A) it will sit in a garage and never see daylight wasting away
or
B) Some *** bag will buy it, drive it to the bar to show off to his friends, get plastered and run it into a milk truck later that light

and after you do that, then what?

street racing is not only dangerous, but ghey.

I bet this car is too much for most of the people on this board (including me). I know a guy that had a brand new Carrara GT. He sold it to a guy about 2 months ago and on christmas eve he totaled it. Too much car for the guy. What the hell would you do with 1000 HP????

i wouldnt go in a straight line on the same highway. see cop lights, floor it, get far away from cop so he cant see me take an off ramp, hide somewhere. this car of course wouldnt have any sort of license plate or registration though .

Dosent a modded car always depreciate it total value!?! Wich mean ifi it was worth 60k then thats what it would be stock, when you start modding it the price drops from that NOT GETS HIGHER

guys you have to realize who is he targeting for a price tag of $55k

Certainly he is not targeting teenagers & college students (so it knocks off 90% of these forums)

But maybe rich old guys who you see driving corvettes (convertible) with shades who is looking for a thrill

i think that is a rather reasonable price... its got over 1000 HP and he is asking 55K... i mean there has to be so much stuff put into it... let alone the time and money it cost to get that stuff installed
