ive seen a million and one pics of spray painted flat black hub caps and my question to you is on the 02 lx caps do you guys think it would look as nice as on the hub caps that look like 00 si rims (wide spokes) mine are the five spokes and each spoke consists of two thin spokes (kinda ugly i hate them)
should i paint them or leave them silver or get spinners or poop on them and throw them at the next v6 mustang i see? ( my car is black with black tyc projectors)

I spray painted my GSR rims; outcome was good. Nothing wrong with spray painting. You just have to do it right. By all means, do what you wish.

Depending how good you are at painting, a spray job can come out looking very close to a factory finish - sand, primer, sand, primer, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, clear, clear, clear, sand, clear, clear, clear....voila.

With the technique above you should be able to get near-pro results on rims, hubcaps, interior trim, even stuff like mirror housings and outer door handles. Hell, I repainted my brother's front bumper (DC2) over a couple of days with only spray bombs of primer, paint, and clear - the thing looked better than the rest of the car.

Yeah if you put the time into doing it right you can do it with model paint...point is most people just spray and let dry. That is lame in my opinion.

tinker... dont get upset because people respond negatively to an ******* post u made. the truth is that i have a sense of humor in fact its a very sick and twisted sense of humor..i think those are the best ones. but truthfully if i did paint my hubcaps i would do it with car paint because my dad has a bodyshop and i can use extra from my car. and i do think its retarded when people use spray paint on anything that is going to actually be looked at by people like interior parts or sumthin but i just want my steelies to look invisible at night but i hate naked steelies

Don't paint them Flat Black Use Gloss Black or Semi Gloss, they are only Hub caps, but I think the flat black makes your car look cheap.

Agreed. Spray painting isn't evil on its own. Its when the person doing the spray painting does a crappy job. Not sure about painting the caps. I wouldn't do it, but thats me. Your not really loosing much if you don't like it.
