So you kept hitting your GF in the head with the stick shift when you shifted the truck...
Dude your mean

I hope she was wearing a Mickey Mouse Hat while she was doing her thing..man that would be such a turn on

Yep, it's a "luxury", it costs more. You can switch CD's & drink your coffee & the gf thing too. I'm a schyzo driver so half the time I love my auto, but then I see how much kick my friends car has just cuz it's a manual...
So I'm TRYING to "learn" my car and figure out when it likes to shift so I can have some control over it. If you're reving and let off for a moment, it'll take the chance to shift, but I'm clueless about the rest.
There's rare days I do something right because it actually suprises me at the random amount of acceleration it gives, but does this actually happen when I NEED it to? ...not on my life. Flooring it, tho you might think, isn't the best either.
There's some electronics that are supposed to adapt to the driver's habits and adjust the power curve, but I would much rather have a CVT since it's much more optimal.
If anyone finds anything that can improve our AT then please post, meanwhile I'll be humping my gas pedal with my foot trying to figure out what makes it go.

CVT is in the civic. Look at the brochure/online thing for Honda Civic HX. They have the option for CVT or manual.
I think it was boostedciviczex who had a civic HX CVT with turbo and nitrous.

If you kept the suto in d3, you would have a top speed of 100mph at redline. My car shifts at 65 in the top of second, and 100 at the top of third. Youll get worse mileage, but you wont have to deal with it shifting.
I was and still am quite impressed how my civic auto trans does corners. It always holds gear through the turn, and depending on how much I push the gas (I'm talking small modulations), will drop a gear to zip me out of the turn.
The only thing that bothers me is constant straight line acceleration, it always seems to shift to 3rd and 4th like 500rpm too soon.
I also think it could shift faster, and its not always smooth. (my old z34 shifted f-ing quick and real smooth) but that doesn't bother me really.
