car insurance question ....help
anyone know what happens when someone else causes an accident in someone elses car?
Does the person who was driving the car get hit with the deductible? Does the person who's car it was get hit with the deductible?
Both the owner and the person driving have the same insurance provider as well. Anyone know how this works?

i believe it's the insurance of the owner of the car, since auto insurance covers a car, independent of who's driving it. Check with the carrier though, because it could be handled differently with different insurances.
the other guys insurance would only be affected if your wife were listed on his policy as a driver. your insurance should not be affected unless you told your insurance company. if you havent told your company, dont. unless they check your CLUE (a database of all your accidents and claims) report every renewal, which they shouldnt and the accident may even be listed in there under the other guys name, then they will never know. if you have any other questions, im an insurance agent, let me know
