That's a bad idea. The dry ice will cause condensation to form on the inside of the pipe, which will then be sucked into the engine. Maybe in dry climates it won't mess up. And besides, how is cooling that small portion of pipe gonna help anything? The air will just heat up again afterward.

Actually, dry ice is SO cold (-103F) condensation won't form on the inside of the pipe, just the outside since the frigid air is on the inside of the pipe. I would be vary weary of using this though, as dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas as it sublimates, and all of that will be sucked into the engine.
Since it is so cold, the air WILL stay cold as it gets sucked into the engine, but it's really not worth the 11 HP for daily driving since dry ice can get expensive.

they have a cryogenic frozen intake or something like that. you actually see ice crystals on the intake. i forgot what website i saw it on...but you can buy it and make you own custom "cold" air intake.

Dunno what u mean by heluim but if you talking about using liquid heluim to cool down the air, its pretty much way to expensive. Liquid heluim is around 4 degrees kelvin which would cause worse problems like brittle intake tubing shattering and maybe cooling the air enough to where combustion is impossible.
