Actually some people that have had their car corner balanced showed up with almost 53/47, while others showed up under a percent off. I guess it depends. But it wouldne be hard to get it exact though, just throw something in the trunk.

lol...^^
update:
drove the '99 over the weekend. i looked at 2 cars, both '99s. i got to drive one of them, the cheaper one. it was in pretty not so good shape. the paint was in horrible condition. you could see it was in a fender bender, but i dont know how bad. the body had a small dent and scratches tho. plus 60K miles and when the engine was revved there was water vapor or some sort of white exhaust. it didnt look like smoke tho. so there might be issues w/ the engine and water getting in (crack or bad gasket or something)...obviously the dealer "didn't know" if the car was in any major accidents or if it had any major engine problems....whatever. but i got to drive it and i had not noticed a major difference between the 99 and the 95. but then again i didnt drive that far. shifting was still a bit tough, i think its because they have a hard linkage between the shifter and the tranny. im used to the cable linkage in the civic. lol
the other miata i looked at was pristine! it was at this small dealer, he had a 58 porsche speedster for sale and an old school jaguar (i think xke but im not sure). anyway, place was full of nice cars. the miata was wedged in the middle of the showroom between an s2000 and an old mercedes. so i couldnt drive it or even start it. but the paint and everything looked good. the dude looks like he wouldnt sell a bad car. but it was pretty expensive.
so anyway...next saturday im gonna go test drive it and make an offer.
wish me luck.

Have you buzzed through here yet??

Lots of good info on the differences between the years.

the 97s were the last year of the Lighter chassis with the 1.8L engine... I'm looking at a 94-97....

Zzyzx - yeah, ive been a member on that site for a few months now. ive been doing a bunch of reading on the years. i like both the NA and NB, but since this will be a daily driver i think i will be better off with the older year. plus i like the redesigned look a bit better with the headlights and all that. plus the interior is more attractive to me and they come with a nardi wheel as standard equipment, where as the NAs had it as an option i think.
