At first I thought this would be an awesome mod...
...until I realized why it wouldn't.
I was driving the other day and thinking "it would be cool to convert the top and bottom cruise control buttons into radio volume up and down controls." But then I realized that you'd lose cruise control function
I don't ever use cruise control tho. So that's probably why I had the thought in the first place.
My friend had a Firebird (I think) with steering wheel volume controls and it was awesome.

you could relocate the cruise control unit to the wheel hub (like you would if you had an aftermarket wheel). Then buy another cruise control unit, mount it where it's supposed to go, and use that. You'll have the best of both worlds!

^ Haha, that's kinda busy but still an interesting idea.
I don't see "volume" written anywhere on it.
PS. Do you have a link to that?

u could always just put a regular deck remote somewhere close to the steering wheel to make it easier.. wouldnt be as good, but a lot easier.. velcro or glue it.. I dont mind reaching over to my deck..
Geese, its not that hard...
Get the buttons for an Accord with Sterring wheel controls, pre 2003 of course...
There is allready a place for a wire coming out of the back of the factory deck, hop over to clubrsx.com and do a search, its an old, old, old topic...

^^ Thats why I ultimatly never did the mod, I thought it was more expensive than that though, is that just the buttons? You need some kind of part that goes in behind the sterring wheel that will allow the wiring to rotate with the wheel as your turning. I was under the impression that part was about $65 or so, its been a long time ago though...
My new Titan has the controlls allread, so I guess I dont have to worry about it anymore. It is kinda odd feeling though when I dirve the womans's Civic and she doesnt have them..
