I gave in....
Well, last nite I got pulled over again for my front plate in my windshield. I'm giving up, I foam taped it to the front bumper
It's just not worth it. First it was my plate cover, got pulled over too much for that, so I bought a clear one. Now, it's the third time for the front plate. Anything they can get you for, especially on an import. The cop was cool, he said it draws their (cops) attention instantly and it's not worth it. He just gave me a verbal but I drive through the town twice a day, so I just fixed it. As he was talking to me, the dispacher called in a blue honda with no front plate, but he had already pulled me over.....End rant....

ps - have you guys ever heard of getting surcharged on insurance for multiple non-moving violations? Like I said, the cop was really cool (for a cop)....and was telling me that if you get so many non-moving violations within so many years that it'll affect your merit rating? I've probably had 8 in the past couple of years, including warnings which he said apply also (written only).

. Yeah I was screwed by the police this summer for every stupid thing besides my actual driving. What I found out was you can get de-merits for some of this BS depending on what section they write you under. I'm fighting all 3 of mine just because of this, it's a good thing I called a ticket expert cuz you don't know it's a de-merit until you pay it, it doesn't say on the ticket, you have to look it up somewhere.

^ yeah, exactly.....I've gotten them for exp inspection, Rejected inspection, front plate many times, rear plate cover many times, no registration or license in posession, etc. I better call my insurance company and find out what's up, I just paid 50$ for the no inspection sticker, I'll be pissed if it f's w/ my insurance.

^yup, f that, leaving a bar or something even only having a couple of beers, the last thing I need is another reason other than my driving to get pulled over. The only "illegal" thing would be my painted tails, I had tezza's but I opened them and painted them to match the body, and painted completely over the clear reverse "window"
I've been pulled over multiple times with them on and never an issue.

Yea Man I Got Pulled When I Had My Eclipse Because Some Kids Broke Some Windows And The Cop Thought It Was Me...by Myself...he Couldnt Find Anything So He Gave Me Defective Exahaust Which I Thought Was Gay And Paid The 50 Dollar Fine....come To Find Out It Didnt Effect My Car Insurance But An Extra 150 Bucks A Year For My Bike...hmph
i also got aticket for back plate cover.. so i took it off right away.. and im takin it to court.. when they got nothing they will pull over an import and find something to give them a ticket for.. thats how cops are..
Being on of the few (if only) Law Enforcement Officers on this board, albeit in a different sense than is being discussed here, I must offer a different point of view. To quote Jim Carrey in Liar Liar
"You want some advice!? STOP BREAKING THE LAW *******!"
On a more serious note, they don't just pick on imports. Any car that has something noticeable like a missing front plate (in states that require them) will get pulled over. According to the letter of the law in most places, it clearly states that the plate be on the front bumper. That's why every car manufacturer conveniently has a place for you to mount one
While they may be bored and looking for something to do, it's not recommend that you be the one who gives them something to do, only to complain about it later...
Some more advice to everyone in general, ignorance of the law is no defense.

yeah, you're right about STOP BREAKING THE LAW, but you know how some cops are. The cop who pulled me over was cool, and two of my friends "friends" are cops, but you know some are looking to bust our ***** because they profile our cars.
