beating your car too much ?
beating your car too much ?
ive been thinking how much pushing is too much. My buddy has a 98 ex and just blew his engine, i had a 90 hatch in mint condition with with low km's and my engine went. I baby my cars , they are always mint in and out but i always have the urge to pin it and hear some intake
. Its getting a bit bad now i find myself driving on a long street at night and just out of nowhere ripping it. How many times do you guys pin(floor) your cars a week , just to get an idea.

i never redline or hit 6k rpm anymore after uninstalling my performance mods. i used to have fun races with my car but im in the "quitting racing process".

That's not the best idea. By staying under 3k alot, the vtec won't engage and you'll have even bigger problems like clogged oil lines. You need to use to car in every way. Staying at or below 6k rpms should be no problem.

Too many times, car runs great other than stock suspension making lots of noises. Replacing that next month hopefully with some Omni. Keep your car maintained and youll be good, I am at 81,000 miles now.

Well... on the street I'm pretty tame. When I autocross..... Well Lets just say that the amount of time I've spent bouncing off the revlimiter is getting in to the minutes.

i floor it at least 20 times a day. the d17's are very strong. most of the time the tranny will go first. and my baby is a lease so if i break something, honda gets to fix it!!! heeheeheeheehee
i dont drive it w/o being on it. im constantly @ or right below 7,000 rpm's. its a honda and they are made to rev high. the rev limiter is there to guard you from damage. besides the thing doesnt even make power until at aleast 3500 rpm's, then it opens up.
everytime i see a nice circular on ramp or a nice straight line im on it. sometimes ill even sit at a light if no one is around and yank the ebrake hold the clutch and gas and when the light turns green drop it and fly. i guess you could say i take it a lil extreme but i like to feel any car im in pull.
