Climate, temperature, and elevation can affect dynos. Not to mention if they used fans to simulate wind or something.
Vtec is just a way to have a performance cam and a daily driver cam at the same time. It has two lobes. One VTEC and the other non-vtec. If you put a crazy cam in a non-vtec car you could get the same highend hp. but your low end would suffer and idle would be horible.
So on VTEC cars: the non-vtec lobe gives you the low end and when VTEC kicks in it gives you the performance lobe and gives you top end power. Like two cams in one.

I like the idea of Vtec and understand it a little, but the people I hate are the idiots who come up to me. They go that EX right, You got Vtec, I hear that some good power and stuff, I usally turn around and run before I become and dummer.
