However, it is not totally right either, for instance, body kit definitely decrease performance, it adds weight and it is too close to the ground.
By your definition, you would be a ricer because you have a huge body kit, but I think your car is totally cool. The body kit made your car looks very nice. Therefore the the most general definition is not that general anymore.
Hey guys, I run Jersey Rice (checked my logs and saw the link here) and I'm glad ya like the site and aren't being like "omg, them guys are gay. those cars are cool." I posted last time you guys posted my link, and just figured I'd say hi again
It's been a while since an update, but there should hopefully be one soon.

At laugh@rice.com, not all cars are rice, some are just regular show car... so that make them look like they are jalous.

my side skirts weigh about 3-5 pounds each..... my front bumper is the same weight as my stock bumper and my rear lip weights about 3-5 pounds.
so i dont actually know how adding a body kit is adding weight..... 15 pounds AT MOST of extra weight is funny.... i wouldnt even consider it weight. it would be like saying that you should remove your hub caps cuz those plastic pieces add weight.
my kit is urethane so its much heavier then paper thing fiberglass which most kits are made off so saying a body kit adds weight is a huge misconception.
you're right, my car is rice....... on the performance side its rice but i think i did a decent job with making it look nice. thanx for the compliment

well, it still adds weight and it is still too close to the ground, I mean your definition for rice is too strict.
I think as long as the car look nice, no one can say you are rice just because of some body kit. Otherwise probably 80% of people here will be rice.
I think the basic rice definition is that if a car annoyings people in either visual aspect or hearing aspect, it will be called RICE. BAsically it is for a bad artwork, taht is it.

For instance, supera spoiler on chrisler 3M...we can't really say the perfomance decreased because it is an AWD but I bet it will be called rice because it is visually disgusting...
So when mod a car, we just need to be careful what do we add. hehe

The Mustang GT's have fake brake vents and air scoops. I wonder if those same scoops and vents are functional on a Cobra.

We are all different and that's what makes the world go round! It would be a pretty boring place if everyone had the same likes and dislikes.
Hey, it's all good. Just giving my opinion, nothing more.
it's pretty hard to explain but you'll know rice when you see one. if you see a car and it makes you laugh/smile/puke.. then it's rice.
and no. not all asians are "riceboys." infact, they have the nicest cars around.. no pun intended to anyone

ohh yeah and about rice:
to become a Rice-R, one must
1. purchase the econoplastic chrome painted Rims(aka: hub caps) that attempt to swirl from a local auto zone store for about $35 on a set of 4,
2. purchase a variety of stickers that primarily say "NOS", "DOHC", "APC powered", "AEM", and "V-Tec" in big flaming letters.
3. get the biggest damn exhaust tip that you can find, if one is not available, take a tin can or a soda can, cut it in half, and tape the **** to the end of ur exhaust.
plus stab holes into your exhaust with a screw driver to get the desired sound.
4. take a pack of 10 neon light strips and put them all inside the car for a light show to amaze the crowd.
5. take off your stock air box and buy the custom special $25 intake from a well known distributor such as APC to get the maximum horsepower out of your car.
6. buy that tinting paper that is sold in every auto parts or auto zone store, use scissors to unevenly cut it into big squares, and apply sparingly on on all windows of the car, esp. the front... Please do not pay any attention to the air bubbles that have been trapped. It is to help the glass breath!
7. lower suspension to about 3-5 inches, put a body kit on and then launch over speed bumps really fast. The air resistance will decrease phenominally due to the sleek aero dynamic body-kit design and give about 10-20 more horsepower.
8. and last but not least, i cannot mention this to any Rice-R(s) enough, please purchase an array of tachometers at least 10 inches in diameter(the kind that have the range from 0-12000 rpm), boost guages, and battery current flow meters, and screw them into the dashboard. This equiptment will let you monitor your performance in real time.
That is all, thank you and be safe, remember to flip the finger and vroom your engine the next time you are racing in a saturn or a tercel at a stoplight.
