That is one thing about my ex -she used to hate it when I would spend money on my car. She thought it was the lamest thing ever. So when we broke up I spent all my money on ICE for my car cuz it just had to be done and it felt so damn good!

yeah man, see thats exactly what im talking about. haha im envious of u, that ur gf shares that bond with cars. im tryin to get that!
right now, she doesnt really think its lame, well... maybe she does on the inside, but i dont think she wants to show it, cuz she knows it'll bother me. n she does stuff like buy me magazines from time to time, and says things, to make it sound like shes interested in it... but i kno shes doing that just to please me, and not because shes really into it. oh and btw, yeah LilCivicGirlie, your right. i notcied that too, with all the posts. most of the girls here that are into it grew up on cars in some kind of way, and slowly it just turned into something greater.
i guess ive got my work cut out for me, trying to get my gf into cars. she doesnt even kno how to drive yet. lol. damn its gona be rough teaching her, but its all good

Rep Power: 0 oh an one other thing -you have to find out what she does like about cars. Like my gf thinks that ricy lookin cars with obnoxious exhaust and huge spoilers are lame. So when I keep mine and her car really clean and simple with none of the "gay" stuff -then she really started to like it. She totally had a stereotypical view of imports till I showed her how sweet a car can be just by being "clean" ya know?

Rep Power: 0 like some of the other girls, i got interested in cars after dating my bf for a while who's totally into cars. at first i just did it cuz all he'd ever talk about to his friends would be cars and car stuff, and i could never join in cuz i didnt understand what he was talking about. and it just seemed to me like it'd be nice if we had that in common. so at first i actually put effort in trying to learn about cars (through what he told me) but then i became really interested myself. and now i'm hooked! haha. there's so many things i like about cars...I'm sure the same things that would draw any guy to cars.

when i show her cars, (all kinds), she doesnt really ever say much about them, like.. "its okay" and thats it. on a scale from 1-10 for being interested in cars, id have to HONESTLY say shes a 0. hahaha

Rep Power: 0 ^aww, i wouldnt be to nervous. At least she isn't trying to keep you from persuing your hobby. Just stick with it, keep showing her stuff out of magazines and Im sure eventually she will see a nice pink s2000 in one of your mags and she'll go "I love it!"

but oh well. i dont get discouraged that easily. she can go shove it! hahah jp. but yeah, i tried showing her that pink s2k from 2f2f. she doesnt really like it, lol. (ud think all girls love that thing XD). n then i even showed her some picks of those krzy rides with the gucci interior n stuff (since shes into fashion alot)... nope that didnt work either. sooner or later shes gona crack, this is just taking too long

But my god that didn't work either!? Yeah as i said before, my ex would get PISSED when i would spend money on my car -it was always like "Save your money! You need to buy a house! Your car isn't even that cool!" -When she said that im like: "OH NO YOU DIDN'T BIACH!" and i freakin busted out a roundhouse kick to the face! Booyah!
That really did suck me how she wouldn't let me persue my LIFES WORK of modding my car.

I've always been into cars. My dad is kinda into NASCAR (go fast, turn left) and other domestic car stuff, so I've been around it since I was younger. I had a little interest, but nothing compared to now. After I got with my fiancè 3 years ago, everything just snowballed from there. He's really into cars and he taught me a lot of stuff. Ever since then, I've been dedicated.
When he had his 2k1 Civic, we modded it together -- kinda considered it "our" car. Now that I have my own car, I'm in the process of working on it. I hope to be Auto-Xing sometime next year.
I grew up around all guys and most of my friends now are guys, so it kinda comes natural to me.
I've always been into cars. My dad is kinda into NASCAR (go fast, turn left) and other domestic car stuff, so I've been around it since I was younger. I learned a lot about cars from him & he helped me start to work on my own car. Since then I've met a lot of people who have helped me learn more and more about cars. It's become something I absolutely love. My car is my pride & joy
None of my girlfriends are really into cars. They think some cars are "pretty" & stuff, but that's about it. They always look at me like i'm crazy when I get into big discussions about cars with my guy friends
