Changing cars
Hey whats up, i think im going to be getting rid of my civic! I was looking at the Celica's. I read up on them they had good ratings, does anyone have any expierience owning one of have any complaints or anything bout them. I like what they offer and i think im tired of the civic for now, i dunno im not 100% possitive i wanna get rid of the civic. But if anyone can give me maybe some pros/cons on the celica that me greatly apprieciated!! Thank you.
**Also i dont want A RSX, Lancer, WRX, or anything im pretty much just looking at the Celica. Its going to be that or this M3 up the street, the guys giving me a good deal but still once again im not sure yet if i wanna dump the civic!!
Thanks!!

Celica's are pretty nice, my old roommate used to have an older model Celica, and has all kinds of problems with them, but since they remodeled them, they are supposed to be a lot better, also, the Celica will be taken off the market in another year or two... That could either be good or bad for your resale, have you looked at the new Scion, it is supposed to be Toyota's replacement, I think...

i've heard celicas can be difficult to race because of gearing. but if you want a daily driver thats fun, 2 door, and has some comfy seats and reliable go celica.
of course, if you are 6 feet or taller, please go sit in one, you might change your mind

I've never driven a Celica, but a friend of mine came to visit and his roommate came too and he had a celica, w/ racing seats and 4pt harness, his was gutted but didn't have any performance mods, it felt fast.. (then again any car w/ racing seats and harnesses might feel fast :P)
btw, he said his was right at 2000 lbs including his weight..

if i didnt have the civic, i would've been driving a celica 2003 gt instead.
their nice cars stock. i like the seats, interior and the sporty exterior styling. they look real clean fixed up too. their not performance cars but a poor mans sports car. their way faster then the civics. i have an auto 03 ex coupe and my friends silver 2004 gt auto base celica (140hp) took me with 3 car lengths and he didnt even smash the pedal to the floor either
i only had an aem sri btw.
if your looking into the celica gts, those are very nice cars..
if i had the choice of an used bmw m3 or new celica, it'd be the new car because we had bad expierence with used cars

Id love an M3 its a 1999 for 24,000 and the celica im thinking would be about the same, i gotta sell my Mr2 first them decide civic or no civic!!
My dad's first car in the States was a 1975 Celica, he sold it with 180K miles on it. The guy he sold it to is a family friend who still has and drives the car with well over 600K on the odometer, the car is still running great. The newer celicas run good too, all the people I know never have any problems. I had my eye on a 2003 GT-S but my dad would never let me get anything with less than 4 doors.

That’s crazy it should perform like a super car at that weight. That what the Lotus weighs that has the Celica engine, its on par with srt 10 and modena's for 1/4 miles and 0-60. To shed more than 500 pounds is very difficult.
