and the v-8 conversion has been around for a while. there are people doing the viper v-10 conversion now.
and as far as traction goes, thats not true either. there are people who race these so they obviously have traction...you just have to modify the drivetrain and wheels/tires.
Yah a miata with a corvette engine isnt to rare anymore i have seen a few with the vette engine and a few with a twin turbo rotory. They only weight around 1800 pounds with either engine and can run a quater in around 11. They are really mean, and a corvette engine like that stock has 385 horse and over 400 ft/lbs. As for drifting, if you can keep it from spining like a top then it would be awsome for that cause all their would be is tire smoke and squealing. Even thouht it might seem dangerous i still want to take one out and pound the hell out of it.

Wow there I didn't state a fact just an opinion. All I have to go by is the pictures and I don't know if he/she has done proper modifications to the suspension. Why don’t you just do some more careful reading before opening you mouth.
why does everyone assume that an LS1 is any heavier than the 1.8L iron pig that was in there? Plus the weight is probably more towards the firewall so it might actually retain the 50/50 balance. In Nissan conversions, the LS1 engine actually improves handling because it is lighter than an SR20 (Much smaller, and all aluminum-displacement means nothing about the actual external dimensions of the motor, pushrod engines are much smaller externally than their OHC counterparts). the Ls1 block only weighs 90lbs. Go pushrod pwer.
