But look at this:
"They say the rate increases are subjective and used disproportionately against blacks, Hispanics, people with limited education and those with bad credit."
People with BAD CREDIT! Well DUH! People with bad credit SHOULD pay more for loans, since they've already demonstrated an inability to pay back what they borrow. What does redlining have to do with this? It would be redlining if AHM jacked up the rates that dealers in a particular neighborhood offered. This just goes hand-in-hand with all the other studies that show certain groups have as a whole worse credit than others.

Friend of mine bought a new 04 Corolla-S a few months ago. Got a good deal on it. Was able to talk them down to about $15,000 for the car. But, when she went to go apply for the loan, she's got ****** credit. Her interest rate for the car ... ready for this? The interest rate is 18%!
And yes, she's a white female, so go ahead and try to play the race card there. It's because she's screw fckgwed up in her credit.

it doesn't matter if you are black, white, yellow, or purple...if your credit score and credit history suck, your rates will be high! if you put as much effort into cleaning up your credit as you do worrying about **** like this, you won't have a problem.

Old topic....
God forbid a black or hispanic person with bad credit or no credit ends up paying more for a car then a white person with good credit....stop whining about it, get an education, pay your bills with the decent job you get with that education, and you can get better pricing on cars.
Dealerships do that all the time. They offer people with bad credit or no credit at all a deal on a car. You pay 15,000 for this civic, get a loan and the interest rate is going to be 19.5% So you end up paying 23 grand for it, unless you default on payments and we repo the ****....
Go out and research car prices and deal that you can take advantage of. Play one dealership off another. No hard in that. In the end you can save thousands on a car. But people don't do that, and they get screwed over.

In reality this is not a Honda problem, but a dealer problem, and many dealers of all kinds do this. Not always to latinos or black, but to people with crappy credit, or people they think are dumb. Dealers will try to make every last cent they can, and this is one of those ways.
