The CTS-V is overrated.... Its just going to be some Yuppies Freeway cruzer... Over weight and over powered. at least the M3 likes to be tossed through the corners.

CTS-V curb weight 3850 LBS...... almost 4,000 LBS!!!
that is one seriously over weight pig of a car....

I don't see how this "assembled in such-place" matters. There's a guy on here who had a Civic sedan assembled in Japan instead at one of the U.S. locations and it ended up having major quality issues. But like Mystic said, most Japanese cars are assembled in the U.S. which doesn't necessarily mean that your Honda Civic coupe is built on Ford or Chevy's American standards in terms of quality.

I'm sure an assembly plant's location cannot base whether your car is made of crap or not when probably every assembly plant builds cars on the same terms and rules. It just depends on the manufacturer.

There's a difference between "American made" and "Assembled in America." Kinda like Hayame coilovers for our cars: Designed in America, Constructed in China, Assembled in Japan.

how are there all these americans just gonna frown on usdm cars like that
60's and 70's us cars own any other
not to mention that many of our companys are together with some other companys like daimler chrysler ....chrysler motors with mercedes and gm is putting money into mitsubishi actually helping keeping it alive because it has been doing poorly so they are together gm owns saab ford and mazda got a thing goin on and theres many more relationships out there like these so for me the only thing i see wrong with most us cars is there high depreciation value but so what i mean why buy a car if your worried about how much to sell it for later (civics have a pretty low depreciation value its close to mini's)

Silver says, "Uh, this guy is an idiot."

That and we all know sweden wins all because of the koenig zigawaaaa hehe
i think using WW2 is a bad choice to use as a example. Primarly because they lost two wars and both to the Americans. If you use that example then American engineering would be the best since they defeated both the japanese and germans.

We also want to keep in mind the present level of engineering and not that of the past. Since cars made now are not based on engineering from 60yrs ago.

I think each kind of engineering all have there strong points. I think American engineering makes the best straight line speed type of cars. Germans have nice styling. Japanese have the best reliability.

Most japanese companies produce there cars in America primary because a large amount of there sales are in North America and they get taxed up the *** if you import it from Japan. The American companies produces most of there cars in mexico because of the cheap labor and they dont get raped by import taxes because of NAFTA.

Not true, We won because we could out build them... that it..

When we invaded Normandy, we expected to lose 9 Shermans to every Panther knocked out..... Not exactly the best odds....

also, they were the first to develop Balistic Missiles (V2)

and they also Developed IR night scopes, though they were never developed enough to Deploy *The US didnt start making/using IR tech untill the mid 50s....

Then there was the MG42 ( a machine gun that fired 1,200 Rounds per min, we based the M60 on it) The MP44 (Also Known as the StG44), the first opperational Assult rifle ( the russians based the AK47 on it)

Then there was the Vairous air bone Wire Guided missles they expiremented with, both Air to air and Air to ground.

oh ya and then there were the Vairious Jets they were the frist to develope (Most well known would be the Me262)

We beat the Germans because there simply was more of us.

(I'm a bit of a WW II history buff.. :P )

Japanese cars are really coming out with nice shapes. These german luxury car makers have to up there game if there going to continue charging so much for there cars. Why spend so much on a a german luxury car when you could make your own car for cheaper?
