Good info above. The worst mistake people make is playing music loud around the neighborhood. Be smart and step up security. I've got an alarm with two sirens, and the trunk is completely tied down. It's sad that I can't use it anymore, but that's the price you pay. Take out the trunk release cable and hide your hood release. The longer thieves have to search for stuff, the better chance of them giving up.

Who was the guy here that used his old stock radio as a "Dummy" faceplate? That was the BEST idea I ever saw. I think he said it even fooled Honda during a service call.
The REAL radio is safely hidden behind when not in use.
Very cool idea.

if anyone leaves their belongings (cd's, etc..) laying around visible where a theif can see it, it's your (not blaming anyone in particular) fault. though it's not right for anyone to take anybodys property, it's just an easy target. i usually put things under my seat, or in the trunk so they at least can't see it.

After i spent all my money on my ICE, the guy at Best Buy showed me this alarm that is pretty insane. You need one that when someone gets in a siren in the car goes off. The one he was showing me, he said, was so loud that the human ear cant listen to it that close for more than a minute without causing perminent damage. The alarm is wired to the battery, so if the battery goes dead, or someone tazers your battery and kills it -a backup battery sends the alarm off. Same with the trunk, if its popped open. He had it on his Accord, he walked up to it and it started chirping at us, he barely kicked the rubber on his tire and the alarm went off. FREAKIN LOUD! And his key chain showed that someone hit the left side of his car. -NOW THATS AN ALARM!
I think it was like $450 minus installation.

Interior pain generator, I had one in my Saturn years back after it was broken into. Those things are loud as hell.
As far as protecting your stuff, I went as far as bolting the stuff through the trunk floor and then bulging the end of the bolt so you couldnt get the nut off, easily atleast. Then I even went as far as getting a custom chrome plated cage made to sit over my amps and subs and bolted that down as well. For the HU I just got a good chain and bolted it to the back of the HU and found a good hiding spot in the dash to secure it, they would break the HU before they pulled it out and there wasnt enough slack to get in there with a tool of anything to get the chain off. After that no one ever got anything from my car. Also you can bolt down the sub box, drill two holes and get 3 inch bolts and bolt it to the body of the car. install subs, thief trys to pull it out and it doesnt move.

That same thing happened to my friend on sunday. Like i think the worst is getting the cd's taken, for me id flip that be the worst, sorry to hear man that so ridiculous people do that.
Well I found out who stole my stuff out of my car, At the time I worked at Pizza hut and ordered about 30 gallons of pudding. The nice thing was he drove a Neon and with the older neons you could pull the window back a little bit. Well one night my friend and I poured 30 gallons of pudding into his neon. Oh such a sweet victory
