Yep reaction time doesnt affect the elasped time and that again looked like bracket racing... which has been explained numerous times

****EDIT**** watch the tree it is bracket racing the difference in the starts is done by the tree in theory if both run what they say they will (dial in time) they will cross the finish line at the same time
