Thats the truth. Our car are slow. Only thing that would be worth while is an engine swap, turbo or nitrous. Everything else is expesnive and definatly not worth the $$. Most of this should be common sense.

most of the people here have thier cars for the streets. its nice to have a car that has some ***** in case some one wants to have a little fun on the street. barely any people make a civic fast and ONLY use it for the drag strip.

when people ask about a civic being fast its safe to assume that they mean "fast" in a straight line and not an autocross track. if he wanted to know about cutting corners and and not slowing down for turns then he would of asked.

Everyone knows what AEM, Injen, DC Sports, etc claim for Hp gains on the 7th gen vic and we know that they are not true.

News flash loosing weight does not give you more HP just makes your car lighter so your engine isnt strained as much.

1/4 mile times does prove how fast your car is. Not the track (nothing against grip guys)

the 7thgen civic wasnt made to race but if you put a lot of effort into it, its possible to do a lot of things to it.

i think my 7thgen is fast enough and i only have a simple intake. i avoid comparing with integra gsrs/preludes/modded b16's/etc. its not worth hassling your *** off just to hang on to a integra at the strip. if you wanted something fast, shouldn't have invested into the new civic.

So im assuming your "154hp" civic is a real pavement pounder compared to the rest of ours? You are ricer who thinks he can take on anything with his I/H/E. You have never been in a fast car, only been embarassed by them on the road. You dont auto-x, and thats the only place a 7th gen in near stock form will be able to triumph over more powerful cars. We all love our cars, but we know what they are, and what they arent. You may be excited your parents bought you this car and you threw away some money, i mean modded your engine, but jesus.. be real about your car. You are still a 16 second car, and unless you post some slips I will not believe otherwise. If you are happy with your car then great, but dont try to make it out to be something its not.

As for "posting elsewhere"... We've been around a lot longer, and have seen you dumbass n00bs come and go. You are just another idiot who didnt do any sort of research before you bought your car, and now you are stuck trying to cope with the futility of your modding process. Sad truth, but everyone knows it: Civics are slow in stock, near stock, pretty much a lot of forms. You have to MAKE them fast. But you know, the fast and the furious glorifies that right, I mean, especially the first one in which RJ De Vera (bet you don't even know who he is, but still, I digress) raced the white, blue etc. civic in the first race scene against the RX7 and the Mitsu Eclipse, and the Integra. True, it may have had a chance with the integra. And maybe the eclipse, depending on what mods that it had. Unless it was a swapped car, however, it'd be absoloutely killed by the RX7. Fact is, however, ever since those garbage movies, kids think they can take their mom's grocery getter, put a couple of hundred bucks into it by means of a fart cannon exhaust, a no name intake, and maybe a header, along with a body kit and a huge *** wing that serves no purpose other than show points, and kill anything on the road. Newsflash, it's a civic. It's not made to be fast, it's an economy car. Meant to get good gas mileage, and serve the purpose of being dependable transportation to where one is going. I have modified my civic. Did I think it would be fast? Well, no, not until I do a motor swap, and put some serious money and wrench time in on it. We don't beat up on our cars, we understand that they are what they are, and nothing more. Yes, we know it takes a lot of money to make them fast. Yes, we understand that a few parts don't make them dominators on the track. Yes, we know all of these things. But is it our intent to buy a stock or near stock civic and expect it to be fast? Doubt it. You'll notice that other than Steph Papadakis, and a few select others, you don't see a whole lot of Civics at the strip. Where can you find the majority of modified civics? At shows, thats where. Number one car at an import show, and the largest class there is? The Civic class. Accept your car for what it is. It is slow, that's the design of it. To be fast, you have to make it fast. You sir, are the one that needs to quit yer bitchin' and get in the kitchen'. Damned, I love noobs that come in here and bash people that have been around for years, and know what reality is, and face it. Please, wait till 2006 and watch The Fast and Furious Crap part 3.
