bunch of questions

Hello
I just got me a new civic coupe. I wanted to know the pros and cons for cold air intake vs short ram vs k&n air filter. I know cai is supposed to be the best, but is it really worth spending 200 on it as apposed to 40 bucks for an air filter? I also live in an area where it rains a lot so I'd have to get that bypass valve and I hear it hinders performance. Anyone have any experience with K&N CAIs? I hear its simple to convert them to short ram if neccessary.

I also wanted to know about exhaust. No offense to anyone, but I hate the exhausts that make a ridicilous amount of noise. I just wouldnt be able to listen to it all day. Anything I can do to the exhaust that wont sound like that? Any other suggestions that would increase hp from my measly 127 are welcome. Only thing is Im not that skilled so I can only do stuff that doesn't require welding or drilling or crazy mods like no2 and stuff.

If anyone has good stories about putting stuff in, I'd love to hear them, Im trying to think of ideas right now.

if you dont want a rice sounding exhaust go with the magnaflow...its kinda deep and isn't that loud but sounds pretty good, and it doesn't let the whole neighborhood know you are around. better have it welded and bent by someone though because when you install it yourself with those clamps it leaks like a motha...

a combo of intake/exhaust/headers will produce about 1-5hp
cai produces the most hp (theoritically)
no, you do not need a by pass valve unless you're driving in areas were your filter is half submerged in water
i hate loud exhaust too! so if you like quiet exhaust id suggest the rs-r. thats the one i have on my 03 ex coupe. its so quiet you can hear your intake at high rpms.
suggestions: maybe get turbo, if not n20. however if you're scared of those products go w/ aem cai (i have one for sale brandnew for $120--pm me if you are interested), rsr exhaust, dc headers, maybe aem cam gears, upgraded clutch, etc... all that should run you the same as turbo (totaling to over $1k). think about it.
If i were you Id go w/ turbo or swap all the other stuff is just dress up.

I know you are new, but there is a ton of info on this site. use the search function and search around for parts. We can all tell you to get this or that or the other thing, but you should really do your own research. Remember, there is NO BEST of anything.
