Neon or Cavalier
So my friend is getting a car soon, and he likes eclipses but wants an integra but if he cant get the integra...he might go with a new chevy cavalier or dodge neon, because they basically start off cheap as dirt. What my question is, what would you go with if you had to pick a cavalier or neon? I personally would go with the neon because i think it looks better and i've seen a few neons that have been modified that look really good. And dont see many cavaliers but im not really a fan of how they look either. Personally, i dont know much about either car. So any help would be great. Give me your opinions.

Tell him to sack up and get a used crotch rocket. He should be able to find one that's about a billion times more impressive than either one of those turd boxes, and he'll get better gas mileage too.

Yeah...i know that neither car is worth a damn. I hope he gets that integra but i think the only reason he likes it is because i reallly like integras and said something first to him about it. But i think right now, he just needs a car. I mean he is 19 years old and going to college so he cant really save up for a really nice car and his mom said she would pay the down payment. But its hard for him to work when he's in college and really dont have a ride to work. Imma try and talk him into getting a used civic or something.

my cousin had a cavi, not the newest gen, but a mid 90s I believe, it's not too terrible of a car. I'd choose SRT-4 over any cavi, but the srt-4 costs too much..
i'd go with a cavalier.. but a previous generation one... my friend has one and it looks pretty nice. The dislike the newer ones because of the rear end. this is all based on looks lol

Some people here are a bunch of haters and don't know what they are talking about. According to them there is no other car company better than Honda.
Back to your questions. I would go with a Cavalier with the Ecotec engine. 02+ (mid way they change from the 2.4 Twin Cam and the 2200 to the 2.2 Ecotec) Great engines.
If he is going to school he need an engine that will last and those being the only two options, Neon or Cavalier, I would go with the Cavalier; Ecotec Engines have been proven to last.

gettin a neon or a cavalier is one of the stupident moves someone can make. a new neon will be worth exactly half in 2 years..... for the money i would get a used civic or something.
How bout a scion xA or an echo. Those things start out pretty damn cheap, great mileage and should be problem free (good when in college not having to worry about car going BOOM!)
Should last for as long as anyone would want to drive one of those things too.
And Hyundai has done an excellent job of prooving themsleves.

They're both garbage, but if I had to choose I'd get a convertible cavy. It sucks, but at least it's convertible.
Unless your friend is a girl and a stripper, don't get the eclipse. The integra seems like the best bet here.

Like i said, lets just hope i can talk him into getting neither. Hopefully he'll get a used honda or i really hope that integra cause i wanna drive it and help him fix it up...
civics start dirt cheap too....
if he really wants to save money but still get a new car, he could just get a DX civic. sure theres no a/c or power anything, but it's still a civic. proven reliability, and great looks. better than cavy or neon anyways...
u can get a DX civic for like 11-12? and a HX civic for liek 12-14 which gets 36/44 mpg.
