Recall Notice: '01-'02 Civics

Anybody else get one yet.. Just got mine today.

Apparently the terminal in the headlight wire harness is weak and overheats, causing the lowbeams to fail without warning..

i got that letter today. and i called my dealer, they said they need my car for half a day or more.. its my only car and i dont want anyone messing with my car. *IE: newbie workers who drive your car around to see what it has*

I asked my dealer when I brought my car in to have the suspension replaced.... They said it only affects American civics.... Then she went on to say that it's a shame that they didn't put that on the notice, cause I wasn't the only one asking about the recall

I know about 2 mechs, all the parts guys and the owner of the dealership near my house. I was up there on Friday getting my new rubber mounted & balanced, and they did my recall work. It took a total of 10 minutes and is FREE. Recall work is always free. You don't have to replace the entire wiring. My buddy Brent said my car was worse one he seen yet. He said that my car would have caught fire in a few days if I hadn't done it. He showed me my harness and it was chared on the one end. So this recall is no joke.

I went to my dealer about a week ago and ask to have it fixed, they had all the necessary parts in stock and fixed it all up and stuff, it took them maybe 45mins, gave me new bulbs to. they may give some people crap for using aftermarket bulbs. they told me when my bulbs burn out that i should buy them from the dealership, they run about $20 a pair and come with a one year warranty through honda.

Does your dealer sell aftermarket bulbs? Just wondering because mine does, and if they're giving new bulbs, then I'm gonna make sure they're not crappy ones..

Took mine in today and had it changed out apparently mine was faulty already and the wire harness had to get totally swapped out, I wonder if the new harness that was put in my car can handle 110 watt bulbs instead of the 45/55 watt bulbs in there?

I don't think my dealer sells aftermarket bulbs. I think they gave me the stock bulbs they're not super whites or blues or whatever they're called. and the only reason they replaced mine was becuz one of my low-beams was blown out. so if your low-beams are fine when your go in for service I assume they won't give you new bulbs.
