actually i was wrong....i read where they were comparing the 2.4L to the celica gts, i thought they were comparing the motor from the tc to the camry's...my bad.....read this acticle on the tc and you will see that the tc is just as good a race motor as the gts.....especailly cuz it has more tq

The primary competition for this car would probably be the Honda Civic EX coupe. With Honda's latest redesign they sacrificed performance for added comfort and economy. I feel that the tC is close to what the 2001 Civic Si SHOULD have been. Looking at the numbers, the tC gives more power, more room and more style for around the same price. Hmmm... that is a no-brainer. Other competitors will be the Acura RS-X (costs more), Hyundai Tiburon (less features), Toyota Celica (hmmm...), VW GTI (again, either less features or higher price) and Chevy Cavalier (HAHAHA!! yeah right).
Comp for the EX... We'll see.

lol I still ike the Tc though, I can't wait to see one on the street, that car is going to be sweat. I was on the Scion website and some guy was running a 17.2 in a Xb with a custom 2'' cat-back with a custom intake. I'm not impressed. But there was also another guy hitting a 16.2 with a TRD clutch with JUN flywheel.
i fell in love with the tc the second i saw the pics of it from detroit, i cant wait till it comes out, im gonna start trying to sell my ex so i can buy one...and if i cant sell it by then im jsut gonna trade it in. the crazy part is that the tc is gonna have more after market parts than the 7th gen did when it came out

why compare ir to the ex, why not the dx. I paid 13.5 for mine brand new. 110 hp. That's more of a comparisson, but this will never become a street racer thing, more of a beach/pimpin thing to me.

The power to weight and torque to weight ratio is better than a Civic EX....
I think it's great because a kid who needs a reliable car can get one that doesn't look like a Hyundai accent for cheap....

i don't know what the hell your saying
I think the tC is decidely "priuslike" in it's appearance, especially from the back quarter. The rendering is cool, but when was the last time you saw a crappy looking rendering?
I think all the scion's are rather on the hideous side; dumpy-lookin' little cars... The only advantage the tC has is that it's faster; It will leave faster meaning I have to look at it less.
