Phatcyclist are you like 12 or something? Can you have a conversation or a debate with someone without whipping out name calling to back you up? That's really imature and uncalled for...
The Brochure they handed out at the autoshow said rear steering under the suspension. I was like is that a typo or does it really steer from the rear....

There isnt just a small difference, theres a HUGE difference, its not a butt dyno, its common sense. I know how fast a car moves, I can look at the guage and SEE how fast it gets to 60 as compared to my car.
And no, I dont HAVE to talk to people like that in real life, because I know my stuff, and the people I hang out with understand that, and they know thier stuff too, so I dont question them either.
Butt dyno means something, I can't tell you an HP gain from when I put my intake on, but I can drive 2 cars and tell which ones faster, anyone can do that.
You can argue about it all you want, and talk about power to weight ratios and blah blah blah; Ive driven both cars, I know which one is faster, period, and no information you can tell me changes that fact.
Im 20, the xB has normal steering.

Kid?
Call me what you will, I have first hand experience with the two, you don't. It was pretty easy to tell that from my first post, you proceded to make an *** of yourself and try to change my mind about something I already know. If you have issues with what Ive told you, Im sorry but theres nothing I can do to help, you brought the name calling on yourself by what you said.
My last post was actually incredibly straight foreward, and I have no idea as to why you couldnt just take that, since it answered all your questions.

However, I do agree with you that they are reliable cars, the chassis/engine/tranny are exactly the same as the Echo (the frame is 2 inches longer on the scions)and that engine at least, has been around since the tercel.

power to weight and torque to weight ratios aside, it doesn't mean squat if the gearing in the tranny isn't set-up on the more aggressive side.
HP and torque aren't everything in the world of cars. GEARING is also important.
What i want to know is what is the gearing set-up at.

Exit109GTI - I dont really mean to be an ***, I know how fast the car is, and would expect that a first hand test would be enough for most people. You make valid points, and I would go with the Power/weight usually if I knew nothing about the cars.

i would take a tc over a 04 civic any day, that thing is gonna be bad as hell. anyone seen that panoramic moonroof and 2.4L with 160 hp and supercharger option why would anyone buy a new civic which is about the same price when they can just buy a scion and womp on a civic out of the box they are toyota so you know theyll be well built only way i could see is out of some stupid die hard manufacturer loyalty to honda
Nothing works better than a Chris except a Honda.

all i know is that there are some hot rides comin out nowadays and i love it the competition is gettin thick and the buyer is who benefits anyways my girl wants to trade her 98 accord in to get an xb which i do like even though its a lunch box on rims and slow but a black one with limo tint all around and slammed on 18s does sound slick
I guess they will take some getting used to. I mean when the Mini, PT Cruiser, New Beetle etc etc.... came out people had to get used to them. Now it's like these funky looking things are normal and were always there......
My brother is 6'5" and want's a xB, he's talking about fabricating a handle for it, so he can pick it up and stuff it in his locker at work.

^^LOL. I think that the Scion Xb and Xa are about as fast if not faster than the 6th Gen Non-Si civics. I think that the Xa isn't too hott looking but I would take the Xb in a heartbeat. Definently a sweet looking car. When the Tc comes out I want to take it for a little test drive and see what a "sporty" Scion is made of. Yes, 160hp but from an article that I have read it is a base Camry engine, so that 160hp is from a base luxury car so the gearing might not be to a racers liking.
If your really interested in racing, why not spend a few extra grand and get a GTI 1.8T for 20K if your into the Euro thing, or a SRT-4 for 20K. Unless you don't like turbos.
If your just out of college or still in college though, xB is great for 14K with a warranty.
I mean would you rather your friends see you in a Hyndai Accent or a Scion xB?

for sure! Of course I'd still recommend a 7thgen before any other car, if they're absolute on owning a econobox. I'd hate to see a friend driving an ugly car or a hyundai, just for the sake of a tight budget

If you go to the scionlife website u can check out an redering of the tc with like 2" drop and some sweet rims...and how they are talking with the supercharger it will be about 200 hp...but if u get a different superchanger pulley and supra injectors you cant be putting out around 250......i know im getting one as soon as they come out around here.....how can u beat a camry motor...thats why that car is the best selling family sedan....plus toyota is way more reliable than honda...i thought honda was supposed to be just as reliable...but ive had more problems with my 7th gen with 36,000 miles than my 89 toyota pickup with 202,000 miles
the tc also has more torque than the gt-s.. which def will help off the line, how can you beat reclining rear seats, power driver seat with memory, pioneer sounds system with mp3 for under 16,500. toyota def with be selling alot of these
