Type-S is worthless for the price.....go get a wrx, evo 8 selling cheap dodge neon srt 4.
all faster better cars well except quality on a neon

i was in love with the rsx type s........then i started looking at the wrx. even if the wrx has no top end, just do some ecu tweaking and stuff like that to get the top end power, plus the wrx can be driven in the snow which is a plus for me.
stock to stock, a wrx is a better choice i think

no **** 227hp all wheel drive boxer turbo vs a 4 cyl no torque overpriced honda.....
I use to love them, not anymore though wrx is waaaaaaay better deal

I like the wrx as well, but I would not be willing to deal with their transmission issues (several people have had their transmission catastrophically fail with less than 1000 miles on them) and their other quirks.
Looking at the rsx is just like looking at the civic, there are lots of better performing cars for less money, but everything is a tradeoff.

Like someone else said, if you're going nothing but performance, Wrx is a better deal even the Srt-4. When it comes down to it, get the Wrx because you get AWD. Most people who have tranny issues with the WRX are people who launch the s**t out of it all the time. If you want a good daily driver with decent performance, Rsx-s is for you. Even N/A, the Rsx-S is no slouch like these people who responded with motor swaps make it out to be. Not the fastest but not the slowest.

I have one problem with the RSX-S, Weight. Seriously, what ever happend to light weight sports cars? If honda made an RSX-s with out the sunroof, Power windows, Leather seats, and all that extra Crap that makes the thing weigh 2700+ lbs then I'd think about it. (make a RSX-S Zero!) Same issue with the Si, that thing barely weighs less then the RSX-S!!! Sure they make more power, but with the type of racing I do horsepower is greatly over rated. I'd rather have an underpowerd Light weight car then an over weight powerhouse, cause in the corners the light car will walk all over it. Seriously I've seen it. Last weekend at the Pro Solo out in Atwater, 2 1989 Civic Sis beat the snot out of an 03 Celica GTS By a second and a half. and the 89s might be putting down 115 to the wheels, the GTS is making 180. why did the 89s win.... weight. they weigh just over 2,000 LBS were the Celica is rated at about 2500.

I agree with you 100%.
I was in the same situation two months ago...I'd gotten bored with my 01 EX so decided to go look at cars, not really thinking i'd get a new one. Owed 7k on my Vic, my Acura dealer offered me $9,500, i used the $2,500 as a down payment and left with an RSX.
Now, not Vic bashing, i love em still...but performance wise there really isn't a comparision, it "feels" sportier, and the fit and finish of the RSX is worlds better. I love my seats! Insurence wasn't much more for me, but of course insurence is different for everyone.
Go for it, you won't regret it.

if i could i would buy a porsche 911 turbo but i couldnt afford one at this time i say be thankful to GOD for whatever you drive now because there are several ppl that dont have cars(I know i see them everyday at the metro bus station) so i thank GOD for my 2001 Civic DX because i know its possible i could have been one of the bus riders
