Help in buying a truck or SUV

I need a Truck or SUV that I can take my dog ( I have a pit ) and something that I can use everyday. I was thinking a Jeep TJ or a Ford Escape. I want something reliable and not expensive on gas so no V8. thx for the help

What about a Honda CRV? It's reliable, but I'm not sure if it's big enough for what you need it for.

get the jeep and get in 4.0L V6 4X4 then you can go off road with your pooch!

around here jeeps keep their resale value too...its hard to find one for cheap damnit!
