I live in a world where supercharged mustang cobras, ws6's, corvettes and Pors.'s get owned by civics, neons and integra's. I'm not impressed

well captain, with low gearing and super boost, you can beat all those cars. however, boost those ws6's, corvettes and porsches and keep the gearing and see who gets to 180mph first. i guarantee if u changed the gearing on those cars, theyd spank those civics, neons and all that other stuff.

I have friends with 3rd gens that they daily drive, have a 150000 miles on them, run 12's, and the valve covers have never been taken off the motor. Can you do that in your civic?

Welcome to the site and thanks for not being an a$$ like some others. Excuse the idiots, they dont speak for all of us. Besides I wanted Trans Am when I was a little kid, then I looked at my bank account, that went out the door. Anyways, having driven a Camaro SS, Trans Am, and Corvette, I just have to say I MISS TORQUE and RWD.

^^ I think that its a bit easier to squeeze power out of the b series blocks...and a bit cheaper. The k series is maturing in interest by aftermarket compaines not the d series. We are lucky we have seen some engineering feats of boosting on the stock d block. Not saying its not feasible, its just its a bit easier with other power plants. There are some 7thgens to fear....but there are far more 6th and 5th gens to fear. I, myself, have given in to the fact that I should have gotten a rear drive car in the first place. I will go g35 in the srpings, which will solve my problem in style.
Also, if you don't see a point in posting.......DON'T
I had my share of dom's as well as imports, either one can be deadly on the track

Thats another thing people are assuming that the D17 is a totally different motor just because a COUPLE things were changed. It has a new intake manifold and a few more sensors. Those are easy to modify. I'm not hating on V8's because I have respect for them and have many friends with them but when people start putting down something that they know nothing about, it drives me nuts.

Even if the imports you are talkin about can beat TA's vette's or supposed GT3's, could they get better track times... And even still, how much more *** could you get in a GT3 than a modded civic, most chicks don't know what psi is anyways...

But to each their own.

Better times?! 12.1 in a civic untuned and a dodge neon pushing mid 11's and both of these cars are perfectly streetable for everyday driving. And when did we start talking about chicks. Trust me, a chick will get wet on your seat when you boost it for them. The guys on this site who have turbos know what I am talking about

i was just talkin about status. The difference between a fast car and a fast civic is luxury, and name. Civic doesnt sound as cool as Vette, Porsche, or Quad Turbo McLaren F1 with a 250 sniper shot and a parachute on the back for stoppin at lights

umm ok so you can beat a stock gt3.... on a hatch running 18 psi.
give that gt3 18psi and say bye bye.. yea u can make 4 bangers fast as hell and all, but theres no replacing 2 or 4 extra cylinders, just face it it is SIMPLE physics. im not doubting the potential for any engine, but ill bet $100, officially, that the hatch that beat a gt3 u say, couldnt beat it on the track, PERIOD.

True, I wouldnt mind cruisin in a GT3 considering its my favorite car. Its all personal preference. There's no better feeling then rollin up next to a TT porsche or Z06 and handing them their *****. You spend 1/10 the money and can run on them. Its a great feeling. I will eventually pick up a 99 Cobra, I love em but I will never give up building the SOHC motor

My buddy just bought a white convert. black interior 99 cobra, runnin 8 psi on his sc, 410's. 9.5 in tires all around, full suspension, long tube headers, 3' exhaust no cats, puts down 515 to the rear, and 438 tq. If he did internals and valve train and upped the boots "Damn!"

A porsche is already tuned well. You would have to put another million dollars into that damn thing after you have already spent your life's money buying it. YES you can get a porsche to run quicker but thats a dream world. My buddy's hatch runs 1.6-1.7 60ft times and trap 124mph. Yes, the hatch would beat the porsche on the track. He didnt even have a good run with his car, old man winter showed up and we havent been able to run it since. Let me get a video of my buddy's cluster when he gets on it to give you an idea. Sorry about comin down on the man hard. That was a drunken post I made last night

This guy is why these sites get trolled so much. I came on here and did nothing and some guy posts and goes off about how he isn't impressed, I wasn't doing anything to impress anyone though. I still don't get his problem but oh well.

Captain, count the number of 11 second civics vs. 11 second F-bodies and tell me what you find out. All it takes on an Fbody to run 11's is a 125 shot and some tires. Whats that 600 in mods and you're in the 11's. Me, myself, am N/A running 12's which is fast enough for me. I like a little go with a little show and I have both, and am happy with my car. I'm sorry you have to talk others down to make yourself feel the same happiness as I do already.

Incase anyone wanted to see, here are a few pics of my car.

I agree with you 02RedWS6TA. I have a 99 Z28 and only have a couple mods done to my car and i'm running low 13's. The import 4-cylinders can be fast, no one is saying that they can't. WS6 is saying add up the money you spend on a civic to make it run 11's and then put that money into a camaro, who do you think will win? It all comes down to driver, FWD vs. RWD, tires, suspension work....etc. Just about any car has the potentil to be very fast, if you put enough work into it, and the right kinda work at that. It's hard to compare these two types of cars once they've been completely fixed up for the track.
