Heres the Game plan...
Get your degree
Get a job
DONT BUY **** for 3-4 years and live at home! save like $150,000
Then invest or keep saving half, use the other for a downpayment on a house!

Let's be honest about this. You don't have to spend money modding your car. It's just fine in the first place, but you choose to because it isn't enough for you to just leave it alone. It's something that plauges many of us here. Do you actually think if you buy an Infiniti or whatever you're looking at you won't want to mod it? You won't want to make it faster?
The G35 coupe isn't "so awesome" that it won't get get smoked by many other cars on the market. Bottom line is there pretty much is no "dream car that wouldn't need to be modded cause its just an awesome car as it is". There is always a cooler car, a faster car, a better car than yours and as someone who mods cars that is your mindset. You'll happy for a few months, but eventually you'll get that itch and you'll start modding your G35. The only difference will be that you'll barely be able to find any aftermarket stuff for it and the stuff you do find will be big $$$!
All that said, it's still a nicer car than a vic(it better be for the $) and if you have the opportunity you should get it. I can't see how someone in college would bother driving an Infiniti, but that's your thing. Just don't think you'll be blissfully happy with it stock. I actually saw a guy getting his Ferrari Enzo modded on that show "Rides" on TLC last night. If a person can't be satisfied with that car stock, they can't be satisfied with anything.

This kid younger than me 17 has one and its supercharged....310 to the wheels....i guess thats what got me into the wanting a g35 phase again...

The thing is, alot of the kids drive nicer cars than their parents. What is that? I cant even imagine having a nicer car than my mom or dad. Some of the kids that get these cars seem like their parents want them to die. Who buys their 16 year old a brand new s2000? This kid at school had one and his dad bought him new 19's for it and ****, what the did the kid do? HE TOTALLED IT! Go figure. My parents by all means have the money to buy me an expensive car if they wanted, but I think its something you must work for yourself.
$400 a month isnt a lot?!?!?! WOW i wish i was that rich, lol. Think about it, how long your going to be paying $400/month, how much do you make at the place you work $7/hour...dude just think about it, your gonna have to pay that bitch off forever, thats like a million years(i forgot how much you said for the car alone, but say it WAS 300, just imagine after 1 year you would have only paid off $3600, and thats a $30000 car!) Well anyways, i wouldnt get the car unless your parents pay for everything and you want to be one of those kids that get ragged on cuz there daddy bought them a beamer.
I think if you got the money go for the G35... but if money is an issue.. just keep the civic.. and dont plan on doing any more expensive mods until you got the funds hahaha. pay off the civic... you'll have more cash to spend after that.
wow you are lucky for your insurance. this is my first car that i bought brand new and i have 229 a month for the car and get this!!! insurance is 329 a month. i have a dui an accident and a ticket and a brand new car. yikes. good thing i make 10 bucks an hour. but i have to pay everything myself or i am out of luck. that's why i might be selling my car soon ha ha. oh well. anyways he happy u dont pay what i do. plus i pay for school and work full time. life is great!!
