I think i want to sell my car.
Well I realize i just keep spending and spending...it will never end.
probably by next year I estimate another 2-3 thousand will be spent on my car just to make it "faster". Well mabye its time for a new car, a car that wouldn't need to be modded cause its just an awesome car as it is.
I talked to my dad telling him my dream car (well my next car) is an infiniti g35 coupe. I would love one of these cars. All i can think about for mods would be some nice rims and mabye some tint and it would be a hott car.
I went to the infiniti's website and used a payment calculator. To my surprise with a 10,000 trade in and 3,000 down my montly payment would only be 387 a month. Thats not bad!! I wonder how much insurance would be. (im sure my parents will pay insurance, they do now)
Well what do you guys think?

expect to pay about 50 bucks more each month for the g35 being that it is a sports car and guys our age are still getting @ss raped by the insurence companies.
maybe if u put it under your dad's/mom's name it might be a little cheaper but expect to pay close to 200 bucks a month for insurence either way.

I personally have reached the same conclusion as you, and my parents also pay my insurance. Since I am only a few months away from graduating college I am keeping the civic and my parents are getting me something new. But if I were a year or more away from graduating I would, without a doubt, sell my civic. The G35 is a great car and for only $500 if you had to pay most of your insurance, is still a great deal. I say go for it, but that's just me.
Truthfully?
If you are still relying on your folks to cover your insurance and any other bills, I really don't think you have any business purchasing a $30,000 vehicle. I only say this because I am in the same boat you are...I have ALREADY picked out my 6MT coupe
However, my parents help my rent, my tuition and my car insurance, not to mention have always helped pay for cars in the past, and I would never even CONSIDER asking them to buy me such a luxury item when they are already sacrificing to put me through university. My parents each make $100,000+ annually, but they still work hard for their money, and my 120K mile 1997 hatchback runs just fine. A few months ago we checked out the 04 Civics, but after shopping around I felt bad mooching even more off of them and like I said my hatch has plenty of life left in her
I'll have my degree in December, and then I'll buy myself that beautiful coupe.
If ya'll have that kind of relationship, then I guess it's your call, but I personally could never do that. I can understand if you had some old ratty shitbox, some money saved up and wanted to just go ahead and get what you want since you're going through all the hassle of financing, but sounds like you got a decent ride already. Just wait until college is over, and pay your own increased insurance.

Hey, im paying for the car myself....or atleast i would be.
Well i thought about it and i still need some money for a downpayment so im going to wait a couple years (1-2) and get a good downpayment.
as i said above...with my car traded in or sold plus a 3k downpayment; my monthly payment would be 387 a month...thats not bad at all

I understand getting frustrated with putting so much money into a civic, I think about that all the time. But then I realize that no matter what car I have I will probably do it, so even though with all my mods I could have afforded something better, I would spend even more on mods on my new car. Does that make sense?
Also, if your graduation college and still relying on parents and you want them to help you get a luxury car then maybe you havent ever been welcomed into the real world. I dont mean this to come off as sounding like a bastard but I think in order to buy a car like you want, you should have to earn and work for it. That is what I have been taught and why my mom drives the expensive sports car and i drive a civic. And as much as we would all like a nice car like that, you gotta be reasonable.
Dont live beyond your means- but if you got the money, go for it.
