Honda Powered Saturn: Then end of domestic v foreign?
The Saturn Vue is powered by a new Honda V6 engine. Apparently GM(who owns Saturn) may start to use this particular V6(which they apparently won't release info on) in more of their cars. In return, Honda will get use of certain Isuzu diesel engines made by GM. The performance of the new Vue is now being lauded by the critics I've read...
With the Ford/Mazda relationship, the Chrysler/BMW relationship, and now the beginings of the Honda/GM relationship, are the days of domestic vs foreign arguments drawing to an end? Before we know it every car will be an international hybrid of ideas. I think it's good news for everyone. The marriage between American power and Japanese efficency & design is already producing some exciting things.

I believe that there shouldnt be a dissusion about domestic/import cars/trucks anymore. Honda's were generally refered to as an import because they were built in Japan, just like Toyota, and others. But what do you call them now because, well my Civic, and many many other were built in East Liberty OH. Many other European manufactures are also being built here in the United States. My dad's 02 Dodge Ram was built somewhere in Mexico. Do I refer to that as an import than too?
I think GM realizes it can't build an efficient, powerful motor on its own, and has bitten the bullet and gone to the world's largest 4-stroke engine builder to do the job. Consider most of the engines GM still produces - they are ancient, push-rod designs (the 3800, 5.7 Corvette engine, most of it's truck engines).
Yes, it's an Acura EL

Uh oh. Hey, I dunno about you, but the ground seems kinda cold....and I think the Raptors may take the NBA championship this year.
p.s. for the thick, these are allusions to hell freezing over.

I love CARS, I don't care if it's a 'Stang, 'Vette, WHATEVER!!! I appreciate each car for it's individual charicteristics, the Civic appealed to me for the purposes of 1) Reliability 2) Ease of modifying 3) COMPACT SIZE 4) HIGH MPG
imp: The "Muscle" cars appeal to me for the sheer power. If GM can produce a powerful, responsive, QUALITY, compact-midsize car using a Honda engine...MORE POWER TO THEM!!! I'll test drive it and maybe buy it if I like it!
Endeth Sermon, lol.
