RIP John Lingenfelter

We are sad to announce that John Lingenfelter, founder of Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, passed away yesterday, December 25th, 2003. John had been in a semi-comatose state since November 2002 when he entered into a coma during surgery that was necessary due to a racing accident in Pomona, California in October 2002. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering will be closed Monday December 29th so our employees may attend the services. Funeral Arrangements For John Lingenfelter

Aww man. . I didn't know that he was even sick.. He made that Corvette that did 0-60 in like 1.9 seconds and could out run a damn airplane. . That was insane. .

The 427TT vette and the escalade were legit!
And the vette that did 256.4 was the Sledgehammer, not sure who was the major backing for it(i.e. lingenfelter or wheover) but yeah, it was a crazy lookin C4

Callaway Cars did the Sledgehammer...
LPE has had a few cars that have cracked over 210...
The Sledgehammer was a pretty insane car, but it also was (IIRC) a one off showcase. LPE has cars that anyone can buy that are capable of around 210...
