Air bag vs seat

Now maybe it's the middle of the night and i'm bored but check this...

Suppose you took a corner too fast and your *** was about to get handed to a brick wall head on.... and if you could only have one... would you rather have a functional airbag with stock seats, or would you rather have a racing seat, harness, and helmet with no airbag.

hmmmmm well how close am i to the steering wheel with the racing seat and harness? cause with stock imma good distance from the airbag knowing it won't DECAPITATE me but how far from the steering wheel is the racing seats ? is this a non adjustable seat where it's at a set height?

Wouldn't the harness keep you away from the steering wheel in the first place... suppose it's a fixed back seat

I would rather have a racing seat, harness, and helmet with no airbag.

^^ Yea theyre the ones going 200+ all day, I would think they would know how to design protection for that kind of impact.

Think of getting bitch slapped in the face at like 300mph by a piece of material...thats gotta hurt, plus airbags have been known to break your arms if you clinch down on the steering wheel too hard.

I would take the seats and racing stuff if my car was hooked up properly. ie. the harness was hooked to something solid.

If it was a real racing seat and real harness, it would probably be safer, but obviously half the "racing" seats ont he market are just for looks, like the Tanabe ones and stuff. If it was a properly installed racing setup, legal for use in competition, I would rather have that. Any other setup, stock would be better.

Here is my setup.........I can barely reach the A/C control or my radio when i'm hooked into the seat. If the airbag went off, I wouldn't even come close to hitting it. With harness and seats you can't slide around at all. So be ready for long uncomfortable rides, but i love the feeling.

The only problem with seats and harnesses is the "roll factor". If you roll your car and the roof crashes down on you it will crush your head because you cant lean over like with a stock seatbelt. If you go seats and harnesses you should get a rollcage to be safe.

I will be changing my seats soon to Spoon carbon fiber seats and Takata harnesses that will be much safer.

Now that i've read over a few replies i think it makes more sense to put my money on the seat, harness, helmet package.... i really think that setup would prevent injury better
