I want to lease for 1 year only.

I sold my car and bought some cheap replacement for temporary use until I move in to an apartment in the city (expensivo as hell). In the mean time, I wanted a nice car to drive around. NOthing being touched on it what so ever. I want it only for one year and I dont want to buy and sell-- too much trouble and time. I was wondering if I can lease a car for only one year? Does anyone have any input on that matter?

You can buy an old car that would probably break down after a year. That would save you some bucks. Other than that, I've never heard of a 1-year lease.

Might be able to swing a 2-year. . . . and see how $$ it will be to terminate it after 12 months.

Well, I already did that. I am driving an 88 pathfinder i picked up as a winter car for 800 bucks. I want something nice and pimp-- persay a g35. I like the idea of 2 year lease and termination but my payments will be disgusting. Enterprise will charge at least 30 a day so imo its not worth it. I guess I will just wait and buy a car after an apartment.

In some leases, there really isn't a termination...

I know a person with a 325i lease (not saying they made the best choice) where they can not get out of the lease. They need to sell the car to pay off the lease amount due plus the residual.

Atleast that is what their dealer told them.

You can not many dealerships do it cuz not many do want to do that..but if you can get a local dealer in you're area to do that you can..It's not unheard of but hardly done..Good luck on a nice high payment!

Re: I want to lease for 1 year only.

If you're looking to lease a car short term you're better off just taking over someone else's lease that they want to get out of early. it's your cheapest option and you can get some great cars/deals that way. more on that: https://carvoy.com/blog/56-car-lease-takeovers
