Initial D game for PC announced

According to IGN.com, (and other sites) ValuSoft has been chosen by TOYKYOPOP to create a PC based Initial D game. Due in 2004, this game is supposed to capture the feeling of the anime. We will see when it's further along I guess.

I'm not sure what to think, as their lineup is less than exciting. And while they do offer some racing titles, their entire library seems to be aimed at cost conscious buyers... ie in the $10-30 range.

I think I'd rather see a console game that is based off the arcade game.

My Initial D Special Stage import for my PS2 should be here anyday now, i'll just play that

and btw. Valusoft = crap.

I wonder why they chose Valusoft to do the game knowing their library is a bunch of low level junk?

We've got Initial D v2 at my local arcade and I dunno how many hundreds of dollars I've dumped into it.

Right now I'm driving an EK9 (That's a 6th gen TypeR) and an R32 (old school Skyline). I've been thinking about getting some kinda FR car, but I'm not too sure what to go with. I'm thinking either an AP1 (S2000) or an FC3S (2nd gen RX7) or FD3S (3rd gen RX7). Also, I'll probably go with an MR car, and it'll probably be an MR2. Mmm. This has probably got to be one of the best games ever invented.

I like v1 better than v2, simply because in v1 is much more uncompromising... if you hit the wall, you dont accelerate for 10 seconds... v2, u got ppl bouncing around left and right in their DC2.... cheap cheap.

Yeah, agreed. It seems that *everybody* that plays the game up at my local arcade has a DC2.

The devs *really* screwed up this game and made the DC2 some sort of god machine. Noone that has anything other than a DC2 will race. I do it just cause I'm stupid and I'm trying to build up racer levels, even if I get my rear handed to me in my cars.

Hopefully there's a v3 and they make the cars more lifelike and less beastly. But still, it doesn't take my enjoyment out of the game. I really love doing the time attacks the most. Bunta challenges are always fun too. I really hate racing Bunta in his WRX, but he is still beatable. Only lost by like 32m last time I ran him in my EK9.

Right now Sega is developing the game (Initial D: Special Stage) for a US release later this year. While I doubt it will make it here by the end of the year, it is indefinitaly being developed of a US release.

I have never heard that Valusoft was going to be the developer. I hope that it stays far away from Valusoft. As most of their games are utter crap.

Bunta in the first one is impossible my friend owns at v1 he just keeps beating the last guy yet he can never beat bunta in hard lol. I agree Time Attacks are the best! I like v1 better than v2 cause of the drifting it's much more controlable in v1 then v2 but it's ok more challenging is good I guess

it sucked when i tried playing v2 the first time, i did a time attack, and it wouldnt let me drift... apparently, i can only drift my silvia s15 in the legend mode or versus other people...
