Honda S2000s
I was in the neighborhood of a local Celica GT-S forum (i am trading my civic for a 2000 GT-S since our civics have no hope). Anyways, I noticed that several members were saying Hondas suck, S2000's are slow for 30,000 dollars. In fact one member even said "Honda S2000 are slow and expensive for their segment in the market" Excuse me?! Has anyone taken a look at the Porche Boxster S, the closet rival to the S2000, which is 1. more expensive 2. slower. What are these people thinking?!?! Am I wrong? Are S2000s really slow? I've never really considered S2000s dragsters. Also, they upped the displacement on the 2004s this year. To 2.2 liters. Edmunds.com said "shouldn't it be called the S2200 now?". Feed back plz.
All show!!!

Not many people who are in the market for SVT Cobras are also wanting to buy S2000s. So with that said...
For the money, there is no better roadster. It outperforms the Boxster S, Z4 3.0, 350Z convertable, and every other roadster they threw at it.

mmm, so SVT cobras are classified as roadsters? I knew they had a convertable version, but I don't know if that classifys it as a roadster, what with the V8 engine and all. I always thought, the concept of a roadster was a nimble small engined coupe.

S2000 = 2700 Lbs
So the fact that it has less HP doesn't drag it down all that much.
Its more the fact that the Z has something like 240 ft-lbs of torque and the S has about 155... yet they're still about dead even in a straight line.
But the S2000 was designed to go left and right, and only straight when it has to. The Z was designed the same way, and they seem to run almost identical provided you've got a decient driver at the wheel of both... they both need to be driven differently, and if you know what you're doing, niether are slow.

You're right, Diemos. And don't forget - any car that wasn't designed to be topless isn't a roadster. So... mustang convertables, camaro convertables, etc, aren't roadsters and never will be.
I have a feeling they're refering to the lag time due to high rpm's on the S2000. Don't get me wrong I love em (and yea want one) around town the s2000 doesn't seem that fast, but once you get the rpm's up they fly, but the do so you really need to step on the gas. They need more low end torque. This is where the supechargers step in and make em incredible.
