Safety tip for you all (and a question)

When I was in traffic school a few months ago, we were talking about the dangers of cutting in and out of traffic. Our teacher, an ex-cop, said that if you're going to change lanes so that you'll end up in front of a truck (like a big-rig semi truck), you should wait until you can see his windshield in your rear-view mirror before you do it. He said they can't really see you until you're that far ahead. So that's my question: to anyone who's ever driven a semi, can you really not see a car until he's that far in front of you?

Our teacher then told us a story about a guy who was driving a semi and had to slam on his brakes for some reason, and all the heavy steel beams he was carrying got thrown forward (like how you get thrown forward when you slam on the brakes) and went through the trailer, through the back of his truck, and killed the driver. I can't remember if he said it took his head off or just smashed it.

Anyway, if you are stupid in front of a semi, that might happen. So be nice to them.

kennisonxgs is an unknown quantity at this point
The problem is when sometimes there are a lot of semis around and so very close and slow, it's pretty hard not to try to fit in. I am pretty darn sure that these guys can see because I have had some of them ride my *** by a few feet. Just as there are ******* car drivers, there are ******* semi drivers.
