If I had all the money in the world, and wanted a 10 second Honda? All motor or boosted... I'd go with either a C32 (NSX)or a J35 (Odyssey/Pilot). Why? 6 cylinders is better than 4. I'd choose the C over the J because the C is DOHC and there are parts for it, Unless you wanted the extra displacement for turbo use, then find the lightest car I could drop it into... be it a CRX or an EG hatch, or even an old Accord. All it has to do is fit, and if all you want to do is go straight, the fact that that it will throw off the weight dist. doesn't matter. If all you want to see is 10.99 on the board, big engine, light car is the equation to get it.
Don't drink and post, you will end up hilarious.

Civic Hatch vs 10 sec Viper
Also by "street legal" do you mean none of the obvious stuff (wheelie bar, slicks, no exhaust system) or do you mean that the car must pass emmission tests, etc???

I've heard that the S2000 Engine is to big to fit in the civic,
And for tuning I wouldn't use the S2K engine cause it's pretty well tuned as it is, it already has like a 9k redline, and puts out well over 100 Hp per liter.
The engine you'd want would be the 1986 F1 engine 1.5 liter turbocharged v-6 putting out 1200 Horsepower, that'd make a 10 second car no prob... only downside is that it would cost 250,000 dollars, and you'd have to rebuild it all the time... BUT it would be fast.
As far as feasable stuff, you be best spending a lot of money on building a small v-6, and then a lot of money in weight reduction. Cause the less weight the faster you can accelerate. AS well as getting lightweight drivetrain parts.
