why do people hate on imports
ok this is story i will try to make it short
iam going to school to be a airplane technician and i use to work on turbine engines for a couple of years and i have a lil experience with auto engines now iam not braggin or anything but everybody at my school is always talking **** about hondas saying they are pieces of **** I dont know how much more i can take because i dont try to argue with them its just pissing me off so much i wana put a stage 3 turbo kit in my civic and just do a burn out for 5 minutes and say " dont hate something that your unfamiliar with fu****

cause they hate the fact that a honda can be made into nething.. that there are soo many parts that the possibilties for the car are endless. u can make a honda into ANYTHING....i expecially hate all the people that used to rag on my car for being slow... now one even opens their mouths.

hahaha.....funny story. ppl always hate on things they know nothing about, or they are just simply jealous. Of course there are alot of retards out there that give us civic owners a bad name. Too many ppl think that 1.7L means race engine and start rollin like they hard. I hate homos like that.

Rep Power: 0 There is a muscle car show where I live every year and last year a guy pu t his tail pipe on my leg to burn it when he was sitting at a light b/c I was standing next to a Honda. This year though my friend, who has an 00 accord v6 with a 3.5L Odessey engine it, raced a 68 Camaro who we found out later had a 454 in it. Guess what, the Honda spanked him!
I love domestics too, GTO Judge, Z28 Camaro, etc. but these people refuse to realize that we are just a younger generation of people doing the same thing they were....... so stupid!

Rep Power: 0 i go to a tech school as well and there are so many imports, yet ppl still bash on hondas cause they own muscle cars. i hate it, but there is a **** load of rice and it gives everyone a bad name.

The problem is that a very large majority of the supposedly tuned up Hondas you see are horrible. The ones you don't realize are the ones done right. The fact that they're cheap, plentiful and theres every part that you can imagine makes some people jump all over them, and others just pull that domestic vs. import crap. I don't care either way... a good friend of mine has a Firebird that runs 12 flat down a 1/4, but he knows full and jolly well my car would run circles around his when it came time to turn. So we just agree the cars are totally different. He spends all his money on the engine, I'd rather work elsewhere. Part of it is just that they don't know what you can do with it when you do it right (once again... conditioning because of the bad jobs). Honda Challenge, SE-R Cup, Spec Miata, those are all sanctioned racing series which are pretty self explanitory for what is allowed to run. People just underestimate them because there are ignorant stupid people out there.
I just don't care. Just ignore them. I get crap all the time cuz I say I race my car. People just don't understand there's more to speed than a straight line.

Rep Power: 0 well imports are just a trend thing honda/mitsu/toyota engines are becoming less and less modable. i dont hate on imports i hate on ricers it just so happens that alot of the "import crowd" are ricers. i always laugh when people talk about vtec like its a performance thing. whats the point of "modding" your import by adding turbo and this and that if a stock ls1 is just going to own you. also the small % of hondas that have been built and run 14's or lower no longer become dependable.
you just cant beat a muscle v8 and those engines have TRUE potential adding headers to a ls1 give you more power than adding cai , header , exhaust on a import 4 banger i know its apples and oranges but hondas are not made to be fast and cars like the s2k are still going to be lunch for a svt or someting like that on the road.

Rep Power: 302 I love it when people try to compare a $30k car to a $15k car like they are the same. Ohh your mustang gt will beat my stock civic. Well it should you paid almost twice as much. Give me all the money I would have spend on a domestic and let me put it into my engine. We will see who wins then. I like the natural power in domestics just as much as the next guy, but I also like my civic and not having to pay up the @ss in gas. I think camaros and firebirds are the ugliest things ever. All u did was sign i a paper while us hardcore car lovers are out busting our asses to make our car the way we want it.

Rep Power: 0 you cant compare stock cars to modded cars for every mod let the other car match it if you have a turbo let the v8 have a turbo either way the import thing should be going away soon enough to stop hearing those nasty exhaust tones every night.

Rep Power: 0 The main thing is ignorance. Its true, they hate because they see a ricer with a huge wing and then come to the conclusion that all japanese cars are the same.
And by the way, there is reason to mod our hondas.. that reason is we want a car thats fast AND good looking. Sure you want a fast car get a camaro SS but you're also getting a boat. My best friend's bro has a 99 camaro SS and he gave me a ride.. sure its got a lot of torque but in my opinion the thing is really really ugly... interior is cheap and looks identical to every other GM car. Id much rather have a GSR and throw a turbo in it.. extrememly good looks, unreal handling, potential of 250whp+ in a 2600lbs car... and the ability to rev to 8000rpm (not saying this relating to power, just that its fun =)

Rep Power: 0 this is a 7th gen civic site not a import site i know that sounds dumb but there is a differance. as for the ss comment my friend just got a 35th anv ss and that thing owns every import who tries to race him he just beat a boxter ( my cousins boxter) by about 11 car lengths and was still pulling hard. put it againt a gsr with turbo on a track and his ss will pick him apart even match a s2k with him on a track and my money is on his ss because he has something that s2k has coming out of a turn TORQUE. but uhhh yea vtec powa

I would take a GSR not only because of it's B18c (and again, i agree it wouldn't keep up with a camaro in the 1/4 mile) but because integra's have some style.. unlike camaro's. Running low 14's, high 13's with a turbo GSR is more than I'd ever need anyway.

Because it seems like every time someone with a domestic wants to talk **** and get us all steamed-up over nothing, we're more than happy to oblige and prove to them that we truly are immature thugs.
Give it a rest, boys! Imports and domestics all share the same roads. Comparing a FWD import to a RWD pony car is dumber than most topics I can think of. So what? We buy what we want, we enjoy it (hopefully), and we leave other people (and their opinions) alone.
The reason people hate on imports is because we think we're the ****. Guess what? We're NOT.
People hate on domestics for the same reasons. Think it makes them any different? HELL NO.
It's this make-believe conflict that makes us ALL look like babbling idiots.
