I can't believe how a lot of you are getting worked up over this. Most manufacturer's will void your warranty as a result of racing. Just read your warranty booket, "The warranties in this booklet do not cover: The failure of any part or accessory due to: (... go to last line) - Use of the vehicle in competition or racing events" (pg. 12). So if you race and get caught by the manufacturer; don't complain, because it's in there.
As far as Mitsubishi is concerned, they're just protecting their best interest. I don't blame them for that - people do really stupid things with their cars, I don't see why it should be at Mitsubishi's expense. People just need to accept responsibility for their actions.

Its one thing to deny warrenty because someone dropped a tranny cause of too many 7000 rpm clutch dumps. But to deny someone warrenty on a problem that many people have had, simply cause he was seen at the track, now thats just childish.

And NO honda isnt going to send spys out to see if your racing, for one they dont really care, and they say the stipulations of the factory warranty in the manual.
Anyways, my dealer doesnt give a crap, Ive talked to them about modifications, and racing (sort of) and they have told me as long as no forced induction is added, or the block or its internalls are not changed, there is really not alot they will stick you on warranty wise. There is a dude that goes there with an S2000 who has probably put another $10K in stuff onto that car since he bought it there, and they have never once given him crap about anything, in fact, he was showing a service manager his slipsthe last time I saw him there!

Unless you raced on a privatly owned drag strip you can't get them on this one, because you can goto the track and take pictures all you want because its a public area.

thats fine, but its none of thier buisness weather you race or not still. Sure any company will void your warranty if they cetch you racing, or have evidence. But most other companies are not jerkoffs, and don't send people out looking for people racing. Mitsubishi isn't really protecting thier best intrests as much as they are just being a$$holes...
i actually talked to this guy who got busted racing his evo, he said they have a video tape of him, with his license plates, racing at the track in fayetville... although i do doubt Honda would ever do somethin like this, it very well could happen, so just be careful, knowing what ur doing when you race, that you might get caught, and take ur tags off when you race.... be smart

You mean dealer's will deny potential buyers the opportunity to see the warranty manual if they simply asked before buying the car?
Also i think people have a misunderstanding about "track spies", just cause you get caught at the track doesn't mean mitsu is spying on you. Most dealership owners are car enthusists too, as it was mentioned in the thread some dealership owners also own tracks. So maybe an owner/mechanic/salesman/secertary from the dealership just saw you there and snapped a pic. Also the owner of the evo getting busted said he had left his timeslips in the center console, while he said it covered, theres still a chance thats what the dealership saw.
