Hi everyone!! I am a new member to this board.
and would like to lease a civic!
I am going to my honda dealer in 2 days to see what I can get!
My question is what model Honda Civic should i get?
-I am on a Budget! 14,000$
-which of these should I get?
Manual Transmission, I also need AC!
_____________
Honda Civic DX
Honda Civic HX (vtec)
Honda Civic LX
I want to pay somewhere around 160 a month for 36 months maybe more! Lease!
I have good Credit! 687 points. I am 21
What kind of Deals did you guys get for your civics?
I want performance and maybe put some mods on the car.
This is my first honda so my question is what do u suggest????

The LX is available for 13.5k? I think I got gyped (sp?). I paid 15k and change. Automatic though, but I think the diff is only 800. Eh?
Also, why lease? Leasing is more expensive than buying. Unless you plan on giving it back, in which case you should only look at reversible mods for the car, IMO. People agree?
I don't know how well it would be received to give back a car that's been changed too much.

Ok big guy, how much to pay for any given model has been discussed many times here so next time SEARCH, but just to let you know, I payed 14,500 out the door for my 2002 EX (Vtec) M/T with 44 mi. on it. So if you have 14,000 to spend, go for the EX, but I bought mine in Nov. and they were really trying to get rid of the 02's to make room for the 03's.... if you can wait, you can get a killer deal, just play hard ball. I had to walk out on the dealer twice because he wouldn't go below 15k...but he called the very next day both times offering different things. I payed 200 for the factory wing (Honda wanted 400 for it), and still it was only 14,500...so don't let them push you around and hose you. If a dealer isn't willing to work with you, go to another one.

If you can get a good deal on an ex I would go with a ex. Right now honda is clearing out the 2003's to make room for the 2004 civic. If you could hold out a few months I would wait for the 2004. If you do wait you wouldnt be able to get an EX, im sure the price will go up....but if you dont want to wait now i would go with the ex....Im sure you can get a good price on a lease. Make sure you dont put more than $2000 down on a lease....The honda dealers near my house are offering the 2003 ex for a lease of $159 a month with $2000 or so down
If your lookin to modify it alot get a older civic. like 2001 or lower. I just got a 1999 Civic EX manual transmission for 8.1, thats really good compared to like Kellys Blue Book or the NADA.
Just my thoughts on it.

I'd recommend buying an older civic, and modding it rather than leasing a new one. This way when the lease is up so still have a car cause you bought the thing and for less $$$. When leasing a car, they are pretty strict on what you can and cannot do to it. Spend like $8-10k to buy a 98 or something and then use the rest to modd it.

I went to the dealer today. Test drove like 4 cars, DX EX HX SI, Well for the DX which was the cheapest one with no Technometer, and no AC they wanted 159 with 2k down <13,500> !!
Si they were selling for like 15,500 ,too much for me. EX they wanted 16,000 for it 03 too.
The only one I liked was the HX, its vtec, didnt feel any difference in performance between the hx and ex and the hx was 13,900.
Why arent there any members with the HX???
Are they bad??

I paid 16 even for my ex coupe 5 spd back in september of 02. They wanted 19,000 at first but since it was end of 02 and the 03's were coming I got a good deal and I made them do tint for free. Just haggle them and dont take the first offer. I wouldnt pay more than 15 for an lx. Thats the best bang for the buck.

If you have AAA I would go online and see what your dealership is for it. I went through AAA and got my 03 EX Coupe w/ Auto for right around 16,500 I believe -- it was only a couple hundred above invoice. Plus he threw in the spoiler for free and gave me both the security system and lo/jack for an insanely low price. You also don't have to worry about the drama of haggling with the dealer to get a good price. Thats just my lil opinion -- hope it helps!
got my '03 ex 5 spd for 15445 out the door, after taxes but not including the cost to register it here in Maine, that was an additional $400. i went in with the facts, invoice pricing etc, very easy and no hassels. dont lease

yep, all u gotta go is haggle on whatever you want. You put in the right amount of effort, you will get a very good price in the end..if u don't want to put in the effort, then u are not going to get a good price..
