Anybody see the new SPC with the EVO Vs. the Prsche 911.......The EVO was quicker in the 1/4 That got to make the guy drivin the porsche feel really crunchy........Gettin burnt by a 4 cyl. worth much less... ...It coul've been the new super street ,but stuill..........Damn!

If I remember, it was an apples to oranges comparison. The EVO was tuned to hell and back. Guess what else - the 911 still has a warranty, it looks better, and it's a PORSCHE. If you set the two side by side, I'd take the Porsche regardless of the 1320 time. I don't give a damn about quarter miles. Last time I checked, I tend to drive for more than 1320ft at a time, and I'd rather have the Porshe.

On the other hand, that's cool that they can tune it to be faster for less money.

That's a misleading statement. A MODDED Evo can beat a Porsche. Drive both cars off the lot, and I'm gonna put my money on the 911.

Who cares a porsche is a porsche, its not all about racing all the time.

The point is..... If you spent the same amount of $$$ on each car, then the Porsche would more then likely be a much faster car then the EVO. (this is why I only compair cars STOCK to STOCK, once you start to modify them, it brings in too many Variables.)

I Still wouldnt take the Porsche though, er.. ya Sure I'd take the porsche, as long as it came with a Box of TNT, Porsche + TNT+Cliff= wheeeee...................................BOOM! grrr....Pain in the A$$ POS's.

Not to burst your bubble. . . . but last time I checked, ALL Porsche 911s have 4 cyl boxer engines.

Dude, just coz they're a pain in the **** to do bodywork on doesn't mean the cars suck.

Maybe you should check again. Most 911s and their variants have 6 cyl boxer engines. Few had 4 bangers. Most of the 4 bangers sucked though... 912 comes to mind.

Boxer yes, 4 cyl, NO! All 911s are boxer 6 cyls. But still a nice win for the Evo, modded or not.

Even thought performance numbers are close between the two, I agree that its like comparing apples to oranges. The EVO is an awesome car in every aspect, but a Porsche is a Porsche. Fit and finish is second to none, and I would much rather be crusing the boulevard in Porsche. However, if the road was dirt with long sweeping gravel filled turns, hand me the EVO.

On a sidenote, when the EVO first came out a friend of worked at the Mitsu dealership in Santa Cruz. She told the first one on the lot was sold to guy who came in, and traded his '02 Porsche Carrera for an EVO.

Even the stock EVO only ran 2-3/10ths of a second slower than Porsche, The modified Evo ran it in all cats. Plus i you put the money that you would save from buying a Porsche,and invested it into engine work on the EVO then you'd be un-stopable.

give me the porsche. then i'd sell it and buy myself a 355. the engine sounds from the 355 are like...whoa

I dont care what love anyone has for a porsche. I've never liked those cars, hell id buy a mustang over a porsche, its not so much hp or anything when you look at those kind of cars, its more like style, and style is what counts in that league. Hell, id go for a ferrari, mclaren or something, wouldnt settle for a porsche if i had that kind of money. But for the money i got right now, the evo is top notch and i personally think the EVO doesnt really have a real contender in its same class, aside from the WRX, but lets not get started with that. Anyways Good for the EVO, just gives me more reason to trade the civic in for one next year like I plan to do
