did the 2nd gen eclipse ever come with a v6? i thoguth the fastest was the gsx. i saw a 2nd gen at school with a v6 24 valve symbol on the side. i thought maybe it was a swap done with a 3rd gen v6 and he just slapped the symbol on there, but the symbol is very worn, like the rest of the car.

maybe a swap. But no, they never came stock with a V6 like the current 3rd gens. In the second gens, I think the only engine choices were the 2.4liter SOHC N/A motor and the 2.0 Turbo. And yea, the GSX was top of the line. It's not necessarily the fastest horsepower-wise, its just that it has AWD. The GS had the same engine, it just lacked the AWD capability and some other options that were GSX-only.

What he said, except the GS was the non-turbo, and the GS-T and GSX were turbos, with the GSX being awd....

ahhh yes. My bad. The GS was the non-turbo, I meant the GS-T.
