OK, well there is this guy in town that recently became friends with me friend. He says he has a 1998 Civic HX. I have a 2001 Civic EX. As you know the 01+ has a factory 1.7L engine. He says that he has a 1.8, "because hes done alot of work". Also, last I saw he has a short ram intake, with a AEM filter - he calls it an AEM intake. Also, he has a fiberglas bodykit, lowered on 17-18 inch wheels. The car is (badly) painted yellow. He has some kind of big muffler, but based on his constant lies it is only that, a muffler. At the most it is an axle back. This guy says he can do 103 in 2nd gear. Beond that I think he has a shift **** of some sort. This guy lies all the time, IMO. Tho you all have not met him, Ill bet you know someone like him. You say you can go 100mph, he says he can go 150mph. Basicly he tops you in everything he says. Tho that last part is all my opinion, and can not be proved. (also he grows weed in his bedroom closet [stupid faucker])
Today I was pressing him to race me and he never agreed to it. Each time I asked he asked me a question about my car, and then when I answered, he toped it - of course. Also he told me the car goes into storage MONDAY, so there would not be a chance. Then, even beyond that, he asks me if I want to "put somthing down", "since Im so sure" or somthing, I told him that I dont have much money, but I would put down somthing. Anyhow, the point is thru all this he never actually agreed to race. I am convinced that i can beat this 98 HX, even if my car was stock, because I think this idiots a liar. I have seen his engine compartment, and all he has is a crappy little intake that I mentioned above, and a strut bar, thats it. I saw no header, pulleys, or NOS. I havent seen good under his car, but I think his exaust must be, basicly, junk.
I personally am convinced that I can beat this guy. Dont say try and find out, I tryed to put down all the info I know here and I dont think he will ever agree.

Don't even try it man...the HX does like 300MPH top end, puts out 500 HP and will SPANK EX's all day long. The HX stands for Hysterical Xcrement, which, as you know, is some funny shiite!

hmmm if he says he has a 1.8 and he lies everything he probably has a b16 sounds like it to me. have you taken a look at his engine bay? maybe hes a loner that needs attention or something. Act discouraged and say yah whatever like you dont even care wait till you see the look on his face.

Well don't feel to bad I used to work with a guy like that. Everything he said was a lie. Especially when it came to racing his car he "used" to have. But tell him hes full of it one day and see what he says.

It will make you feel better to just wax his ***, but he seems like one of those folks who will just make up an even bigger lie of why his car didn't win blah blah. I think we all know at least one person who constantly lies to try and make themselves look good.

oh, also last night I told him that if his car could do xx in first (some big number fo course) and could do 103 in second, the car would have almost no accellartion. because, well basicly thats why we have gears in the first place. low end gears and high end gears, and if you could go that fast in 1st or 2nd then it wouldent get up quickly. That makes sense right?

I know a guy named Brian who is exactly like this ... he's got a D16 Civic EX. He always makes up stuff and tries to one-up everyone. Before I began to avoid him as much as possible, he got a new cat back system. I saw him one day and he was braging about it and all. I asked if it gave him any power gains ... he got all defensive and was like, "I'll blow the doors off of that piece of **** b!tch car that you drive! I beat that Eclipse over there and its a turbo, and I beat this 4-runner and it is supercharged! I'll take your Beetle any day!" The eclipse he mentioned is a '01 4 banger w/ a short ram intake and exhaust ... I'd raced the Eclipse earlier that day and took him by about 2 cars from a red light ... it is slow. The 4-Runner was totally stock and had a "Supercharger Chip" ... sure it did. Brian went on to talk about how he had dyno'd at about 240 - 260 horsepower before he took off all of his mods. Don't dyno's give exact readouts?? And why do you take your mods off when you go to college, thats just stupid and a big waste of money. Well, anyway, I saw the guy a few months later and confronted him about his challenge and how he'd "blow the doors off of my b!tch car ..." He gave me some kind of racing is dumb and my car is for show BS. Sorry to go on a rant, I just thought that you'd be able to sympathize with me as I do with you ... I can't stand those types of people ...

The worst part though ... sometimes you feel sorry for some of these ignorant people and try to help them learn the truth. Then they act like even more of an a$$ and try to say that you don't know what the *** you are talking about ... I just wanna slap 'em ...

Just one of those people that bullsh!t too much about everything. You'll beat him, then he'll come up with an excuse like "oh, my 100 shot of NOS button got stuck" or "oh, I wasn't ready... cheater!" Don't waste your time. When people come up to me and tell me all this b.s., I just tell them "Good... For... You..."
