which car?

i am looking into buying a used car, and my list is down to integra gsr, integra type r, 99' 00' civic si, prelude, and a celica gts. i was wondering which would be fastest stock. i also want to know which i should get, speed is not that big of a deal to me, since they are all fast and will prob be pretty close. so far, i have only drove a gsr and a si.

I believe the ITR is the fastest, don't know too much about the prelude (other than the engine) and i thought they were pretty heavy. The GTS is just as fast as an RSX-S, ITR faster than GTS, Si, GSR. All depended upon equal drivers of course

but then again it's hard to find one pretty much anywhere... so downgrade a lil bit to the GSR... gotta love that 8100 redline of the GSR... although u can always modd it to rev over 10k... hahahaha... i wanna do that to my car when i get the GSR

I'm gonna spit against the wind hope for the best... I'm gonna go with Honda Prelude (the last generation). Mod potential is awesome, ability to go faster than the others are excellent. All the cars you have listed are excellecent choices, but the chances of finding any of these cars in good condition with average miles and no mods is going to take some effort. Good luck.

So. . . is it, or isn't it, important?

speed is important, but i dont want to buy the car just cause it is the fastest. i also want a good car not just for modding. my friend has a gsr and he let me drive it, and it feels extremely fast, even going like 30 or 40 mph, or maybe its just me.

actually, i live in Virginia, and u can easily get those cars listed without mods, i already found 3 type r's, 2 with 25k miles, and one with 80k. for like $17k, so it shouldnt be hard finding them.

Ahhh, that makes sense. I wasn't trying to be a smartass. . . was just a little baffled at the way you worded that, originally.

Well, for sure the Celica will be the least-likely stolen, and the ITR and Sis the most-likely. Should take that into consideration. Otherwise, I'd say go for the GSR. It has a strong motor, is EASILY modded, and is still less-common than the way the 6th Gen Civics (in ANY trim) are.

Good luck! I know how this decision process can sometimes wear at you. . . was going trough that very issue, lately. Think I've narrowed my decision down, though.

Another vote for the Type R. Extremely good motor, handling capabilites are off the chart (for FWD anyway) and the interior is super nice.

Si, nice car, but a little too heavy for that motor.

GT-S I like these cars a lot, the only thing that bugs me is that the pedal space is very narrow, and it is a bitch to heel - toe those suckers. But, if you don't plan on auto x'ing, that's not a big deal.

Man. forget all of that just get a 92-95 hatch, then get a USDM or JDM B18C motor and drop that in there. Boom you have a car that will beat all of those under what 8000. thats what i would do. but you said stock. get the GS-R.

In other words. . . you didn't like my advice.

That's okay, just speaking from experience.

One question for you, though. If THAT is how you're going to make your decision, why even post the question up here on the board?

sorry, i dont think i was clear about what i said, i worded it kind of weirdly, what i meant to say was that i appreciate all the advice i am getting, and that since i hear such good things on the gsr, i think i am going to go with that, but i would like to test drive all the cars on my original list, just to make sure i make the right choice. i just wanted other peoples opinions and views. i am sorry if i offended anyone.

Nah, no offense. . . . that makes more sense.

Hell, I just got done doing that exact routine.

Considered:

STi
350Z
G35C
RX-8

After test-driving all of them, I'm STILL going with the STi.

I still wanted feedback from my friends, but my mind was already made up before I even asked them.

All of those cars stock are less than 200 horsepower, so I think whether it goes fast or actually is fast are 2 different things. You seem to like the Integra more than the others since you talk about it more. Go out and get one, have fun with it.

I had the VERY rare opportunity to test drive a FULLY broken-in STi AND 350Z . . . just 20 minutes apart.

1. I'm old and ready to buy
2. I have been dealing with no one but the internet sales mgr at the dealership
3. I'm old . . .

Seriously, though. . . . I think I'm just lucky that the Subbie dealership here is well-known for their outstanding customer service.
