I totally agree .
Did anyone read the article from SCC where they pick the 8 Great Rides under 30K? At the very end of the article they wrote for the Acura RSX Type-S, they said that a Type R would be heading to the U.S. here next year... but that it won't be on an RSX, it'd be on a Civic hatchback...
Rumour, or not, I think it is coming next year.

This is what I'm thinking.... by the time it gets over here... it'll be altered for US crash standards (bye bye weight savings) and softened for our shitty roads (so long good handling). When all is said and done, it'll be an Si with a lip kit, 17" wheels (22 lbs at that) and a factory engine swap.
I don't think it can be higher in price than the RSX. Acura and Honda are the same company, only in America is it 2 separate companies due to the complexity of public demand. Therefore, if there was a type R, it would make sense to sell it for around 18k. I also doubt that there will be more horsepower than the 6th gen SI, just an updated motor with similar output. Any more than that would be an RSX, therefore a waste of time and effort on Honda's/Acura's part, since there is "already one out there."
