Civic Type R? Rsx -S?
Well my lease is up in like 10 months and im thinkin of what to get next. I need a car that dosent get its *** kicked as easily as my ex. I loved it but I wanna go faster. So which route do you think im should go. 24 is prolly my max. And I know I could get an RSX-S for that and I know its a good car. But what about the Civic type R. 1 I dont know how much they are gunna cost and are they better then the RSX? I dont need the Leather and the Acura name which is alot of what your paying for with the RSX. So I just wanna know what you guys know about the Type R. I dont see to much info on it other places. If I could have the Rsx-s performace in a Civic coupe id take that cause i love the looks of the civ. Anyway just lemme know watcha think
Im sorry i was having a stoner moment when I posted this I did mean the new civic type R. so more info on that would own Sorry for the confusion

Well first off, what Type R are you talking about? Because they do not make the RSX Type R here in the States. And the last year for the Integra Type R here was 2001. So if you get a Type R, it will have to be used.
About your civic, its tuff to say if you should keep it and do a motor swap. First question about your EX is, how much is the buy out? You can get more power out of your civic. If you keep it and do a swap, your looking at spending any where from $6,000 -$8,000 depending on the price of the motor and if you do the install yourself. Or you could keep the D17 and go turbo. Check out the FI forums and you will see that the D17 with boost can make some good numbers.

There is not a type R here like was said. You would have to have it imported or buy the Integra Type R. You will have to stick with the RSX-S. If you aren't sticking with honda, the GTIs/VR6's'1.8Ts make good numbers. The Se-R is a good car too, but no boost yet for that car.
I think he means about the rumored civic type r.
Personally i wouldn't get neither of them. The type r will be brand new and it will be priced too high like it happend with the civic si. I don't like the look of the rsx. If you want to go used u could buy a 99ish M3 in the similar price range.

to your original question of which is faster (if your talking aobut an integra-r), the type r should be faster (not by much) than the type s stock for stock. a CTR should be much more than 24 grand (assuming it actually comes, tho i highly doubt it). And price wise, i'm sure you can find an ITR on autotrader.com for 20G's and under.
i'm sure you can do the swap for 6 grand or less...i see k20a2's on ebay going for 3500 everyday and i'm pretty sure you can get axles etc etc for under 2500.
personally, i'd rather go for a swap. You definately sound like me, i jsut want the k20a2 motor, i do'nt care too much for the leather either, considering i'd be switching out the seats steering wheel and all that anyways, just my 2 cents

i'd take the ITR over the type-s. looks better IMHO and the aftermarket is lovely for it.
but if it were me, i'd keep the civic and turbo it. the swap would be fun, but its expensive too. turbos are yummy, BOV sounds give me the chills.

Just get yourself either a 99-00 Si to work on. There's plenty of aftermarket support already out for it, and you can find one for less than 13K. Invest another 5-6K and you're through. You won't need to spend 24K for a fast car.
get the Integra R... u should be able to find one under $20k...i would take a IntegraR over a RSX-S any day... i love the looks of the integra compared to the RSX and the b18 has extremely good aftermarket support.... thats why im gettin an integra GSR (cant afford the type R)...

well, if u like ur car, then keep it. Take out a loan and buy the lease out. Within the next yr there will tons of products for the D17. A swap would be nice. A swap would be ideal, but pricey. Just hold onto it and save ur money for about a yr. I can't afford the swap, so i will boost my D17A2 next spring.
