Rep Power: 0 94 EX Intercooler Mounting / Bumper Support Modification
New to this forum, so I hope it proves helpful. I have a 94 Civic Ex coupe, D16z6, GT28R turbo and internals to take it. Just putting everything back together after the full build, and I am looking for a better way to mount the intercooler. Originally I had it mounted it to the bottom of the front bumper support, and had to mutilate the stock bumper to get it to fit. It is ok though, the bumper was getting changed anyway. I know the front bumper support keeps some of the front end rigidity, so I don't want to cut a bunch out to fit the intercooler up higher and compromise the front end.
Can I get away with cutting the bottom out and half of the front face of the support out without loosing strength in front?
If I do go that route, should I reinforce it?
Does anyone have any pictures of their install they could share so I can get some ideas?
Thanks for any input and the time you took on this thread.
