VIN Question

The VIN for my vehicle has a "FC2" which identifies it as a four door with a K20C2 engine. Form my research this is a 2.0 L engine. Am I correct?

Also, the serial number is of the form "0XXXXX". Is this telling me that the engine type is a KA? What is the significance of this? Wouldn't the "K20C2" fully describe the engine?

The "19X" at the beginning and "E" just prior to the serial number tells me that the car is made in Indiana.

Re: VIN Question

serial number is serial....
FC2 is chassis code, as described under the 10th Gen section description.

K24 is a 2.4 liter, so figure what K20 means (2 liter)

You probably did not fully look at the vin number, well, in my opinion it is obvious even. I usually get a complete picture of the functionality of the car when I run it through https://epicvin.com/vin-decoder and that's why at one time I did not buy a car with a low-quality Chinese assembly precisely because I ran all the parts through the decoder. So it might be worth trying this way.

Re: VIN Question

VIN codes like "FC2" and engine identifiers such as "K20C2" provide specific details about the vehicle’s body style and engine type, but sometimes the serial number or other VIN sections include additional manufacturing or regional information that can clarify variations or production specifics. To get a full, accurate picture of your car’s history, engine type, and build details, using a reliable VIN check service like Volvo VIN Check is highly recommended. It helps confirm engine codes, production location, and other critical data to ensure you fully understand your vehicle.
