2019 Civic Si Brake hold button
2019 Civic Si Brake hold button
New forum member here. I have a 2019 Civic Si that I bought about a year ago and I really love it. Its a very fun commuter car and being an Si, it's got a manual transmission.
My question is about the brake hold button on the lower center console. I was told that when I use that button, it activates a mode where the brake holds you from rolling backwards when starting on an incline.
I can see the green indicator light on the dash toggles on and off when I push the button but I've noticed that my brakes already hold me when starting on an incline, whether I push the button or not.
Am I misunderstanding how this button works? Or is it just stuck in that mode all the time?

Re: 2019 Civic Si Brake hold button
The car has hill assist and brake hold. Hill assist will hold the car for about two seconds after you let go of the brake, but you’ll start rolling backwards after that. If brake hold is engaged, it’ll hold the car indefinitely until you press the accelerator pedal.
