Cleaning 10th-Gen Upholstery?
Cleaning 10th-Gen Upholstery?
Trying to clean the seats in my '19 EX. This is my 9th Honda over the past three decades and I've never had seat material that showed as much grime and was as hard to clean as the sort of "vinylized cloth" of this iteration. Even spilling a bit of plain water leaves a ring, and god forbid a kid sit for a moment in the back seat with a damp swimsuit on. Have tried many pro-grade products that generally work quite well (e.g., Car Guys) as well as standard over-the-counter brands like Mother's & Meguiar's, and they remove barely any stains/marks when used as directed. One post elsewhere mentioned Tide detergent and water, which I will try, but wondering if any of you have had luck with a specific product or method. I don't even have serious stains like coffee or wine--it's just daily use that seems to show so badly. The interior is really the only thing about this car I regret.

For spot cleaning I mix laundry detergent with water in a spray bottle. Scrub it in then use plain water in a spray bottle to remove the soap. I have seen people have great success with hand steam cleaners. Amazon sells them for under $100.

Re: Cleaning 10th-Gen Upholstery?
I second the post above, those little portable carpet cleaners work super great. We just bought ours from someone who did delivery, tons and tons of soup stains and grime. The little green worked a MIRACLE on the seats. You have to get them wetter than you think with those machines, ours ended up drying in about 4 hours with the windows down in the sun. Even just a wet/dry shop-vac with the extractor attachment works well too.
